Description:
The USB Twin Serial Adapter plugs into a USB port on your Mac. It provides two RS-422 mini-DIN8 ports for connection to serial devices. Each port supports data rates up to 1 Mbps. This adapter has been certified by Apple for controlling video decks with Final Cut Pro. It has also been certified by Avid, DigiDesign and other video editing software providers. It is also useful for connecting to serial instrumentation used in medical, scientific and industrial process control applications.

Bought this unit to use with my Apple Newtons... and it worked great. Many adapters wont, so whatever circuitry is in this is very clean. Quite pleased!

The Keyspan products that I have used all seem to be good. I needed an RS422 serial adapter to work under Linux, and this one is just fine. Its made for a Mac, but I used it for a different application. The Keyspan drivers for Windows do not attach to this adapter - that would have been a plus. The case had to be modified slightly to fit the DIN8 plugs I had.
