My 256 MB flash drive just wasnt cutting it any more, so when I decided to upgrade, there were a few things I was looking for. First was a high capacity, second was something that wasnt too expensive, and third was anything that seemed reliable and wasnt a SanDisk.
As far as capacity goes, 8 GB is great. From what your site had to offer when I purchased this product, the only higher capacities for flash drives were 16 and 32 GB, but both were SanDisk and I didnt want a SanDisk because for one, every time you plug one in it loads the Cruzer program which I feel is distracting and for two, I have never seen a SanDisk flash drive with a slider that worked properly. The slider on the Trascend works great and locks into place. It is also easier to manipulate since the slider is on the side and not on top.
Other people have said it is slow, but I dont have a big issue with it. As long as your not impatient, you shouldnt have a problem. I mainly use it to play small games like Pocket Tanks when Im not on my own computer. Since I do play games off of it, I can testify that the read speed is slow but not unbearable; once you load the program once, the next time you load it is much quicker.
I like the size and weight: its very light, and it is barely wider than the USB port. It also looks pretty slick. It seems pretty durable; I would feel comfortable dropping or throwing it, but I feel like I could break it with my bare hands. One problem I did notice with it is that I cant insert it into the USB ports on older Dell desktop models because the frame is too wide, but these computers were at least 5 years old so that shouldnt be a problem.
Overall, its perfect for me, but its not perfect for everybody. If you dont need the speed, then I highly suggest it.

Ive been through about 3 of these things because Im stupid and I keep losing them. However, the performance is amazing and is built to last. Ive put this thing through the washing machine and it still worked a couple hours later. It has a hook-like thing at the end and Ive attached it to my keychain to prevent it from ever falling out of my pocket again. I wouldnt recommend any other flash drive, besides the higher capacity model, I guess.
Great product, definitely no complaints.

Read and write performance seems fine on this. The case looks durable but the keyring section is plastic and broke on me yesterday. The search for a USB drive that fits on a keyring and is actually tough enough continues. (So far I have been through Imation tough and tiny, PQI, HP v115w, and many other key chain flash drives. None has lasted longer than 1 year on my keychain. The HP v115w gets called the award for worst Flash drive for dying days after I purchased it.)

When buying flash drives in bulk for the workplace, price matters. For the best price this flash drive has had more than adequate performance. Please note that this flash drive is entirely plastic encased-- previously ones of this apperance/design were metal. That being said, its been just as durable and is lighter weight.

Worked just as I expected. The build quality does feel a little cheap but Ive had no problems with it and dont expect to and for the price you cant beat it. Excellent read/write times and an excellent product. Shipped 5 days faster than the ETA. Thank you!!

I was really looking forward to this product. It looks good, I have boughten Trenscend before. But, I went to do some simple copy and pasting of files onto the new flashdrive and when I got an error that said that the file was unreadable, the copy stopped. I was trying to copy a folder with 100 files. If it came to file number 2 with an error, it would stop the whole process. Generally, on Windows Explorer it would just skip the unreadable file and continue the copy. This stopped countless times. It got to be quite annoying. I just got it yesterday, so this is my first impression, but I am disappointed.

I did buy this on sale, and am very happy with the purchase... at a little over $1 a gig on the stick, you really cant go wrong (until a year or two from now, of course. ;-D).
The transfer speeds are a little slower than Id expect... but, provided you dont pull it out right after queuing files for transfer (who really takes time to eject these, after all?) - and actually give it the time it needs to do its job, I dont think youll go wrong with this purchase.

My purpose in buying this drive was for transferring files on occasion. The case and cover for the drive is garbage. The plastic is so brittle, thin and cheap that it is almost worthless.
Technically the storage device is actually slow too.

This drive has a retractable USB connector. It feels like it will break any day. The plastic does not feel solid at all. The speed is not great. If you are transfer smaller files, you will most likely not notice the speed. Once you move to larger files it becomes a poor performer. My Patriot XT is much faster. I would only recommend this drive if you can buy it for under twelve dollars otherwise look at the kingston because the build quality is better.

This flash drive works great on home computers. Could not get it to run at work even after speaking with IT. It slides out similar tod a switch blade, however it does not lock very securely so when you put it in the USB port it has a tendency to slide back into itself. If you can get past that minor annoyance it is worth the lightning deal price, definately wouldnt purchase one at full price.

I lost my former flash drive and needed a replacement. I routinely takes files home with me from work and emailing them to myself had become a hassle. I picked the Transcend JetFlash V10 - 8 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive TS8GJFV10 (Black) up as a recent lightning deal and so far so good.
For me I havent noticed any problems with the speed of read or write, but my transfers are limited to large spreadsheets and pictures so maybe I wont experience the issues others have reported? Otherwise the style is nice and I like the sliding cap. Also being able to attach it to a key ring was a bonus for me. Now its connected to my work keys so that I can always be assured to have it when I need it.
The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars was because it does feel a little lightweight. I think as long as youre not rough on it it should last, but if you want something rugged this probably isnt it.

I wanted a flash drive big enough to store all my pictures and word docs. Im no techie, so I was looking for a no-brainer product. This is it! Very simple to use and not only are all my important docs and pics stored, Ive got a ton of room to spare. Perfect.

Following the Gold Box deals closely enough, I decided to take a chance on this to have a little more storage to carry around(before Id only been using a 2gig). Its not like it doesnt work... though I havent had it quite long enough to see if its going to start mysteriously eating up my files or anything. The reviews are pretty accurate though, it is pretty much a flimsy piece of plastic. The port retracts into the drive and tends to stick when I try to cover it back up, and trying to force it just makes it feel like it wants to break. Plus the write speed isnt blazing fast for sure, but Im not often in too much of a hurry to care either way. For the price Im definitely glad I got it, but its not a high end item for sure.

When I review flash drives I only have one real criteria - does it work? I am happy to report that the Transcend JetFlash works as well any Flashdrive that I have used. However, a few other observations -
- Write speeds - more than adequate - I was able to transfer a 600meg file in less than a minute
- Not important to me, but others ay like the fact that there is a place to tie a string/keychain. Some people like to have a means to attach their flash drive to their body/backpack/significant other... the Transcend JetFlash will work for that!
- The USB connector is retractable - again not a big deal for me- but rest assured the Transcend JetFlash is fully retractable
Final verdict - Not much to complain about - it will hold 7.6G of data and write at pretty decent speeds.
