Amazing movie. It was everything I expected, and could not have asked for anything more. The story and animation were great. Will definitely be buying this movie.

This movie is another existential downer from Pixar. I was a huge fan of their early movies which were far more light-hearted and child friendly. I dont mind crying in a movie when I am left with a warm and happy feeling at the end. But when my 5 year old turns to me and tells me he is sad at the end of the movie, I realize this isnt the fun Pixar that we started with. I would really appreciate it if the writers would go to therapy and work out their death issues and get back to writing fun movies.

I am going to start this of by saying I love Pixar and subsequently Toy Story. I have grown up with this series, as Andy has grown up. I too have loved these toys. I have all the movies, I know the lines. I saw this movie in the theater twice. I already knew that I had a connection with this movie as I had with all the others.
There is a problem though. I have a Blu-Ray player, and I love the HD images that usually come from it. Except for tonight. For three hours I tried to get this movie to work for me on the Blu-Ray. When I first put it in I had to wait a bit, and was happy when I finally saw the menu. Was briefly disappointed until I noticed that you could use another menu that is ENHANCED. So I clicked on that. Nothing happened. My excitement for this movie quickly dwindled. I was expecting to watch the extremely entertaining Night and Day short film by Pixar in HD. I could not. Nor can I see Buzz Lightyear talking about Space with his friends. I put in the second disk and lo and behold it would not play hoping maybe then that I might be able to watch the short films like that. No. So I put the first disk back in, but then it would not work. I used about everyway I could think of to get the movie to play, but it would not work for me. So I went back to the store and got a new copy of the movie. This one also does not work with my Blu-Ray player, even after I had the software updated. I can still not view my short films. I am actually very disappointed with that since I love Pixar.
I would recommend the movie to anyone, but skip the Blu-Ray. It only causes problems.

I cant say enough about how cute this movie is and Pixar has always had a gift for making movies just like this. New characters are introduced and are just as entertaining as the original characters. Behind the scenes and special features are nice to watch as well. A movie short called Day and Night is very cute and for some of us that are up there in age, we will recognise the characters in the short film.
The story basically is, Andy is grown up and going to college. The toys have been donated to a nursery. The toys just want to get back to Andy but Lots-o-Huggin the bear tries to explain to them that they were given up and should stay. He also tries to convince the toys that they will never be without a kid to play with. Once one group of kids leaves, another group comes in. But..we all know, the toys just want to go home.
An interesting twist where the toys find Buzzs Spanish mode is very entertaining. You dont have to understand Spanish to enjoy this part of the movie. In the behind the scenes, the actor who takes over for the Spanish parts explains his inspiration for his performance and it is well done.
The only reason I give this 4 stars instead of 5 is that the story has been told a thousand times. The obsticles they face, perils and enemies that rise up are the same old obsticles weve seen before. There is no big twist ending but it still is a typical Pixar ending. This is not so much a bad thing, just..So-so.
I still recommend buying this for your collection.

Toy Story 3 is another Pixar masterpiece. Actually, its one of the best movies ever created. The plot is brilliant, especially the part when the toys escape from the daycare place. Funny at parts, and VERY sad in other parts. 10000000/10

My review is brief as others have almost said it all. I just want to say that I am 62 years old, and just the thought about the way I felt when I saw this movie in the theatre makes me tear up. It is a nostalgic feeling in a big way. Reminds you of your childhood and those special feelings about growing up. You want to grow up and get on to being an adult in the worst way, but thinking back now your childhood was such a very special time. So fleeting and if were lucky, such a special time in our lives.
I highly recommend the purchase of this movie to add to your collection.
I honestly feel that the series should stop here. Perfect right where it was left.

This is the best of comics film: fabulous images, a good tight story, and wonderful voice characterizations. Though I thought it started a bit slow and sentimental, as the plot thickened and the characters evolved with the new experiences, I was completely swept into the story and enjoyed it immensely. Having heard many reviews, I think my expectations were a bit too high: I was expecting to be moved, like I can be on occasion by serious films. Alas, I have not yet been moved to tears by a cartoon!
Warmly recommended. This is Disney/Pixar at its best.

This was the first theater film for my two year old daughter. She sat enthralled in her seat, munching popcorn from the first trailer through the credits. I was very impressed that TS3 held her interest from start to finish. We just watched this again on a recent Delta flight with the same result.
Toy Story 3 is a very good film that appeals on different levels to adults and children. Unfortunately, a few of those themes disturb younger audiences, so be prepared to explain some scenes to your younger children.
My personal favorite Toy Story film is the first episode but my daughter seems to enjoy TS3 the best. Jessie is her favorite character, so I assume that tilts the needle to TS3 for her.
I cant wait to see this film in Blu-Ray.
