I like this watch as it can be worn in and out of the gym (not as dorky as some of the other brands) The zone alarms are very usefull for keeping me in the zone. Heart rate work great no issues with it at all. it just works. I am very glad I bought this over the other ones I looked at. It has just enough features and still easy to use.

I love it. It does everything I want could want or need. It has helped me push myself so much harder during a workout and improve my numbers from my previous workouts.

I just ordered this heart rate monitor and I absolutely LOVE it! Ive only used it once so far but the strap was super comfortable, I forgot it was even there once I started my workout. The watch is cute and a good size, I have very small wrists and it still fits (I do have it as small as it goes though), but the face of the watch doesnt dwarf my wrist either which is nice. I also thought the watch was really easy to set up. Definitely recommend this product, you wont be sorry you bought it!!

This was a gift to my sister who does Ironmans. She tells me it took some time to figure everything out and get it working. But that done, she is pleased to see it does have all the different features she wanted. Heres a comment from her: at the end of the run, it tells me how long I have spent in the training zone I had programmed, what my max/min HR was, how many calories I burnt. One negative perhaps is that its not quite as easy to read on the run as it has a smaller face to a previous HRM she had. All-in-all however, she is happy with this Timex..

I needed a heart monitor for my workouts. This works great. I would like it better if it kept track of time in each zone but that is not a big deal. I am quite satisfied with this products performance and ease of use.

I bought this watch specifically to count calories, with the heart rate monitoring function, however crucial that is to computing calories burnt, as a distant second need. It seems that the watchs displays all tend toward displaying heart rate. The calorie counter is tucked away in some 3rd submenu. Its an okay watch, lighter and more comfortable than others. But almost too many menus to negotiate while youre running.

This is my 3rd HRM, for the money it is an excellent choice. The 5 different target zones are nice feature. Recommend this HRM. Enjoy.

i bought a bunch of these as a corporate gift for my staff and generally like it. the watch is easier to use than most. the quality is a bit less than the expensive ones, however and you need to be careful about the chest strap. i pulled it tight and it broke but your site was good about replacement. it works well overall.

I really like this heart rate monitor although I do have to agree with a few of the other comments concerning calories burned, this morning on the treadmill the watch gave me a calorie read out of 349 calories and while the treadmill had 279 calories used. The treadmill reading seemed to be more in line with the workout I had done. The heart rate readings appear to be very accurate and I like being able to see the review that is given at the end of a workout for total time, time in heart rate zone and average heart rate.
I would definitely recommend this heart rate monitor to others. It has also been fun to wear it at work (I wait tables) and see that when we get busy I am often getting a real workout even while I am working.

I bought this HR monitor watch not only so that I could get an idea of where I was during running, but also so that I could improve my conditioning during my runs. The chest strap is comfortable & stays in place (ladies should wear under your bra). The watch has a lot of features, some of which I havent tried yet. I love the indiglo feature, perfect for those pre-dawn runs! Its definitely helped me improve my pace!

This review is for the latest version of this watch (purchased Feb. 2010). Apparently this is the 2nd generation of the watch, which is much improved over the 1st gen, which got deservedly poor reviews.
Ive had the watch for just under a week, but it appears to bury anything Polar has at a similar price point. The Timex beats polar on:
- Good, easy to use backlight
- Easy to configure display, that switches where and how time and BPM are displayed. Its a feature you will probably like and use often.
- User-replaceable batteries on both watch and chest strap. No need to do a chest strap exchange a la Polar
- No interference from other users - applies to low-end Polars (never buy an uncoded watch, you will regret it)
- Much better resistance to interference to other RF sources than Polar
- Simple, good feature set. Most people dont need and wont use all the egghead metrics.
- EASY to use menus. You only need to read the manual once, if at all.
- $5 for a five-year extended warranty. (Look at the bottom of Timexs website for the link)
- Cheap and available parts from Timex via phone. Extra band is $8+tax delivered.
- Recessed, scratch-resistant face (much better than Polar)
The only reason you really need more watch is if you have to have the GPS feature. Then you pony up for the Garmin, but for everything else, the Timex seems to be the ticket.

Product itself (Orange trim face full size)
Pro:
1 - easy to set up, need to run in Chrono mode to record HR.
2 - Big face so it can be read easily *** this is the main reason that make me buy this watch.
3 - Easy to get signal.
4 - Manual in Timex website
5 - Manual HR very easy to set up.
6 - Show recovery heart rate *** this is other reason that make me buy this watch.
7 - Show HR in each Lap (max 50 laps, I use only 10 laps for interval cycling and it record HR for each lap).
8 - Alarm when it go off preset HR Zone.
9 - it can set to show %HR or range bpm.
10 - Cheap, good style and can change battery by myself.
Con:
1 - need to buy data recorder 2 if you need to record it to PC ( I never test it due to have no interest to keep record in PC, I use paper log)
2 - Chest strap is short (I have 42 Chest)
3 - Only 1 Manual HR (some reviewer wrote 3 Manual HR)
Use:
Indoor Cycling in Z1 - Z2, interval Z1 low to Z2 max (Manual HR), recovery Z1.
Good loud beep sound when off preset HR Zone.
Recommend this model
Note: before buy it go to sport shop and look around you will find this one is better style than all others.

I got the red/grey large version. If you have small wrists go with the mid size. I like the appearance and ease of use. It is not a complicated watch and the heart rate strap and monitor work great. It does not save/transfer data (it resets) but it does give you a review at the end of your workout (average HR, hi/low, time in target zone, calories, etc.). I own a Garmin for outdoor use and wanted a simple watch to track my HR indoors. So far this is meeting my needs.

Ive had this heart rate monitor for about a month now and really like it. I wasnt looking for something with every bell and whistle or the ability to download to a computer, just a basic but well built HRM. It has all of the basic features I need without being cluttered with features I dont.
Form factor: The watch itself is a bit on the big/thick side but it feels very solid and well built. It also is styled like a classic Ironman watch, which I prefer to some of the Polar and Nike HRMs. Be aware that the strap is biased more towards fitting larger wrists, even though it is listed as Unisex. The strap from end to end is 10 1/2 inches long, so plenty of size to fit larger wrists, but women with smaller wrists may have trouble getting a snug fit even on the smallest loop. I share this with my wife and she has this issue. I suppose you could buy a smaller replacement strap if needed.
Set up: Pretty intuitive, though the manual could be more clear about how certain settings work (and the manual itself is tiny). Seeting up your weight, zones, etc is all done quickly and is much more straightforward than the Polar HRMs I have owned.
In use: The watch and transmitter sync up very quickly with little moisture needed to make the connection work. I like the big display and large numbers, its very easy to steal a quick glance and get all the information I need. You can swap the display so that whatever is most important to you is displayed in the largest numbers or have it so only your heart rate is showing. The review mode lets you go through your work out, with info like time in your zone, average HR, peak HR, min HR, and calories burned. The Indiglo light works great (with a button press) and is much better than their watches with the flick feature.
Other: Another feature I really like is that you can change the battery in the strap yourself, unlike Polar where you have to send it in or go to a dealer to get it changed. To be fair, the chest transmitter is a little bulky but I gladly trade the slightly larger transmitter for the ability to change the battery myself.
All in all, I give the watch 4.5/5 but chose 4 given the sizing not being consistent with a unisex watch.

I just recieved my HRM today!!! I bought the black/teal version of this HRM watch @ fitmed. I went out on a run and love it!! I wear hearing aids and they didnt pick up any noise from my HRM. I am so exited!! The only thing about this HRM is the guide to setup the HRM is really small. But, thats not a big deal.
