Apparently I am spoiled on Hoya filters... those are cheaper and not as good. They get dirty very easy and somehow dust came between them on some occasion. Will buy Hoya next time

It appears that reviews for every 72mm Tiffen filter have been compiled together. This review is limited to the HT Ultra Clear filter only.
Its a given in law and science that is impossible to prove that something did not happen. So it would be a moot point to try to prove that this filter does not degrade image quality. However, I can say that Ive done A/B/control comparisons with the HT Ultra Clear, Tiffen uncoated filters, and no filter at all, and if you have a light source in the image, the HT Ultra Clear does not produce any flares while the Tiffen uncoated filters produced a (small )flare every time. I suppose that you could simply choose to not take any photos with a light source in the image, but sometimes youve got physical constraints to work around. I am very pleased with the lack of flares in the HT Ultra Clear. I have not tested the Digital Ultra Clear, but given that they are uncoated, I imagine that they flare like the base Tiffen clear filter.
I have not had the product long enough to comment on the durability of the multicoating.
The filter ring itself is a matte, dull grey. (I imagine that this is to reinforce the Titanium marketing.) While not offensive, it does strike me as a little bit pretentious. I would have preferred a flat back like other Tiffen filters, but that is sadly not available.
TL;DR? Buy the HT Ultra Clear if you are concerned about flares in your image. Otherwise, I wouldnt spend the extra money over the Digital Ultra Clear or even the base UV filter.

I was purchasing a T2i and needed a set of basic filters for the 28-135mm zoom lens I was purchasing. These lenses offered the best value I could find. I leave the UV filter on all the time as a lens protector and add the polarizer when necessary. Both feel well made and do not appear to distort the images.

This was a good package of 3 filters. Dont think you can get these 3 filters for this price in singles. Worked well and I am happy.

A must have for any outdoor photography. Tiffen makes great products for the money - not the most expensive filter, and not the best, but perfect for the pro-am photographer.

Tiffen came highly recommended, and I can see why. Less expensive than some filters, I like these because their optics dont seem to affect my pictures, they feel sturdy, and they protect the lens. Exactly what theyre supposed to do, for what I believe is a bargain price.

We have ordered the wrong size, and hope that exchange goes smoothly. The product, ordering and shipping time were very good.

Worked well, well worth the money. I used it for a sunny day at the church. It created the pictures just what I was looking for. I would reccomend this product to everyone.

I purchased this as part of a special offer with a new Nikkor 18-200 VR. I set out to just get a UV filter to protect my new lens but found this package deal and decided to take it. I have to honestly say the filters are not of the best quality. The optical characteristics of the UV filter are substandard. It has very bad glare. The polarizer and the color warming filter also glare but its not as noticeable because they actually alter the appearance of the image.
I wound up getting another UV filter (B+W) which is awesome. I give this three stars because you do get a lot for your money and most beginners may not notice or care about the optics. If Tiffen could improve the glare on these filters this would be a great deal. Until then if you have the money Id get something better (Hoya or B+W)

Tiffen is a new brand to me. it is obviously well priced, because it is used in kits, which is how I discovered it. But the quality seems very good, and the packaging for use in a camera kit bag (soft padded envelope instead of hard plastic shell) is great. I will learn more, I am sure, as I use some of the others, in particular the polarizing filter. But I have been happy enough to get Tiffens for all my lenses. Through your site of course. They are always competitive on price, if compared to trusted sellers only.

The filter provides the protection I intended for the lense. I remove it when I am shooting in safe situations and remount it when shooting in difficult, crowded or situations where protection is imperative

Works fine, just the extreme Blue Sky does not come out as with the original Canon Polarized Filter

Buy a lens, buy a filter, a small investment to protect the lens. UV filter is always good to have.

Whether or not it actually does anything for UV protection is beyond me, but for $14, its a lot cheaper to replace a scratched filter than a multi-hudred dollar lens

A basic no-brianer accessory that came free with the purchase of the Canon 50D. Dont leave home without one - protects lens and balances UV. This Tiffen does the job.

This is a great price for a filter. It appears to be glass and protects well. Hasnt scratched so far. I would recommend it instead of the very high prices some stores charge.

The UV filter is used by most of us as simply protection for our expensive lenses. It is the primary reason I bought this filter, and at this pricing, its unbeatable. It fits nicely on the business end of my Nikkor 17-200mm VR lens, with absolutely no issues on focus, clarity or even the lens cap.
But I discovered that its a bit more than that, and this filter actually works as designed in blocking UV light. Add that to the price and fit, and this filter gets my highest recommendation.

I have used Tiffen filters for years and I purchased this combo when I got a new lens and needed the new ring size. As with my previous Tiffen experiences, these filters are of good quality and I have found no flaws with the ones I received.
I swear by the circular polarizer for outdoor shots. I wouldnt dare to go without lens protection and the UV Filter does that just fine. I havent given the 812 much of a test drive so I will refrain from commenting on that filter.
Unfortunately though, the velcro on the included filter pouch is coming unstitched already (2 weeks of moderate use) and I will have to purchase a better alternative. Personally I dont find this to be to big of an inconvenience because the price is more than enough value for the 3 filters, but it seems somewhat cheap for a company with an otherwise good reputation for quality.
5 Stars if not for the pouch, but seeing as it is part of the essentials kit I can only give 4 stars due to its lack of quality.
