Description:
The Fame Monster [Deluxe Edition] by Lady Gaga (Audio CD - 2009) - Extra tracks
The Fame Monster, in three different versions - a standard version of the new 8-song album; a deluxe version which includes both The Fame Monster and her massively successful debut album The Fame; and this collector's edition super-deluxe art book version, which includes both albums, fanzines, 3-D glasses, paper dolls, a puzzle, pictorials, a lock of Lady Gaga's hair and other surprises.
Says Lady Gaga, "In the midst of my creative journey composing The Fame Monster, there came an exciting revelation that this was in fact my sophomore album. I would not add, nor take away any songs from this EP, it is a complete conceptual and musical body of work that can stand on its own two feet. It doesn't need The Fame." "We may have an economy, but MUSIC HAS NO ECONOMY. I will release four or more singles from The Fame Monster, tour the world with The Monster Ball Tour, and most importantly I insist on honoring my fans with an affordable new album, an album that is as loyal to them, as they have been me." "For those who do not have my debut album, there are a series of collectible double-disc editions that include both albums and artwork conceived by the Haus of Gaga in collaboration with our mentor Hedi Slimane. Hear the music, see the show, live and love yourself...Lady Gaga."

OK, I admit I never thought Id listen to this type of music AGAIN in my life, but I have to admit that this girl
has her stuff together! First, the music has such great beats that youd think all you are missing is a disco ball in your living room. I HATED disco, but this seems, well... different! If you really listen to the lyrics (or better yet read them since she includes them on the liner), you can really feel what the songs are about. They may have some syrupy sweet silly stuff, but who cares? Its music!!!!
And once you get one of these songs stuck in your head, well, forget it... its gonna be there a while! Might as well settle in and JUST DANCE! I thought Gaga was total fluff until I caught one of her videos on TV and then I really thought... uggghhh, please, been there done that, meaning a total Madonna rip-off, but I was wrong. This girl can really sing. Madonna was good, but Gaga is better. Plain and simple. And for shock value on the videos, well, where Madonna left off with Like A Prayer, et al, Gaga has simply taken it to the next level... fast forwarded 20 years and presto! So, like all things... fashion and otherwise, everything comes back into style again at some time... and I guess its time to disco... only now in a techno-fabulous kind of way that disco never had!
Will she last as long as Madonna has? Well, thats anybodys guess... but Id say shes got a great shot at it.
For now, Im just enjoying the music and the videos!!!

Not normally my kind of music but Lady Gaga rocks! Purchased it after hearing Bad Romance - had not heard any of the others. This is a double CD and love all but a couple from the whole CD. Great dance music. I normally listen to pop rock, Celine Dion, James Blunt, Leona Lewis, etc. Buy this CD - you wont be disappointed.

Hands down the best album of the year (2009), cant resist catchy dance-pop songs from the legend in the making herself, Lady Gaga.

YES...WE ALL KNOW THAT MADONNA / BRITNEY DID WHAT SHE DID ALREADY, BUT THIS IS A NEW GENERATION AND EVERY GENERATION NEEDS A NEW ¨SPIN OFF¨OF THOSE ARTISTS AND THIS IS HER. AND FOR THOSE WHO SAY THAT SHE HAS NO TALENT AND THAT SHE CANT SING...MADONNA, SHAKIRA, GWEN STEFANI ETC ALSO CANT SING WORTH A CRAP OR HAVE VERY LIMITED RANGE BUT THEYRE AMAZING ON-STAGE PERFORMERS AND THATS WHAT SOLIDIFIES THEM AS ARTISTS. LADY GAGA IS A MASTER IN KNOWING WHAT HER AUDIENCE WANTS TO SEE AND HEAR. LETS FACE IT...THIS ALBUM IS WHAT IT IS...YOU KNOW WHAT YOURE GONNA GET AND THATS OKAY. I DONT WANT TO HEAR A SGT. PEPPERS-LEVEL ALBUM EVERY TIME. SOMETIMES I JUST WANT TO HEAR A FUN POP ALBUM THAT MAKES ME FEEL LIKE DANCING AT TIMES AND THATS WHAT WE HAVE HERE.

It would be hard not to recognize Lady Gagas hit songs. We love them all, however what is wonderful about this CD is there are other sides to her artistry. Her range of music goes well beyond the dance hits we are hearing and seeing on VH1 and at the Grammys. Please keep up the diversity of music!

Lady Gaga is no cookie cutter plastic pop star in the likes that mainstream is so used to seeing. Her image is edgy and her music is heavy pop music with dark lyrics and powerful messages. Wether at a party or a club, one cant ignore how fast dance floors fill when Gagas songs come on, but the thing that I love the most about these powerful dance floor anthems are the thought process and the meanings behind them.
1. Bad Romance - a song about being in love with your friend and wanting absolutely everything from them, even their ugly and their most deepest darkest part of them that they think nobody else would like, but also about that relationship being so detrimental that it feels like they could write a bad romance novel out of it. The way she references Hitchcock movies during the second verse is absolutely genius! Overall a powerful dark dance anthem 10/10
2. Alejandro - This song is about the fear of sex and intimacy. How your past lovers can hurt you and ruin you for anyone that comes after them. Thats the dilemma between Gaga and Alejandro, as much as Gaga loves him she just cant be with him because shes afraid to get hurt again. And all those flames that burned before him/ Now hes gotta firefight gotta cool the bad is one of my favorite lines of the song. It explains how Alejandro tries to fight against the resistance she puts up. Overall this is one of my most favorite songs on the album, It reminds me somewhat of ABBA and Swedish music which I LOVE!!! 10/10
3. Monster- One of the most creative songs on the album, I love how Lady Gaga sounds soulful in some of the harmonies but yet she maintains this dark electronic vibe throughout the song. I wouldve LOVED to see a music video to this. The song is like nothing shes done before and Im crazy about the ferocious lyrics! My favorite line from the song is
We French kissed on a subway train, He tore my clothes right off
He ate my heart and then he ate my brain!
One of the most addicting songs on the album!! 10/10
4. Speechless- a 70s inspired rock song Lady Gaga wrote out of desperation to her father and his unwillingness to get heart surgery. The lyrics are close enough to be considered a heart breaking love song about a relationship gone bad. Lady Gaga sounds powerful and raw in this song. I dedicate it to all my past lovers whove done me wrong! 10/10
5. Dance In The Dark - LADY GAGAS BEST SONG TO DATE!! Dance In The Dark is a song about insecurities, and how the person youre with can only deepen them and make you feel worse about yourself. Its also an anthem of empowerment cause it talks about breaking free from those inhibitions and restraints. I cannot tell you how many times I have quoted Im a free Bitch baby! and how those words empower me to be more of an independent person and not to rely so much on the validation of others to realize my self-worth. AMAZING song! 10/10
6. Telephone - An extremely fun song that just gets you up and dancing. Theres nothing really deep about it other than its about suffocation and wanting to just dance and have a good time without the interruptions of technology. Although its incredibly catchy I think it was a bad choice for second single. Since probably Dance In The Dark or Monster wouldve had a much bigger impact on pop music in the same way that Bad Romance did. 10/10
7. So Happy I Could Die- I LOVE the sound and the hypnotic electronic slowed down tempo of this song. This track is about addiction and how youre so happy and in such a euphoric state with your addiction that youre blinded by it and dont realize its bad for you and it could be lethal in the end. Its also about masturbation and how it can get you by and help you through some of the darkest moments of your life when you feel everything is just crumbling down. Even though this song deals with a dark topic it still makes me SO HAPPY I COULD DIE!!! Its so good! I smile every time it comes on. 10/10
8. Teeth - I have no idea what this song is about but I LOVE IT! Its creative, raw and I love her unfettered ranting and growling and how the whole thing just sounds almost tribal and something completely out of this world. An interesting and smashing way to end the album! 10/10
My Top 5
1. Dance In The Dark
2. Bad Romance
3. So Happy I Could Die
4. Alejandro
5. Monster
Lady Gaga is incredibly talented and this album is just completely ground-breaking! Putting out this type of dynamic material in just 2 years in her career leaves me in complete anticipation to see her more in the future!!

Warning: This is not an original thought, but Lady GaGa is a POP GENIUS. There really isnt any debate about it. Everyone keeps saying shes the next Madonna or whatever, but I believe she will one day be as big as Michael Jackson. We are witnessing the mere tip of the iceberg known as The Lady Gaga Phenomenon. Mark my words...
THE FAME MONSTER:
1. BAD ROMANCE - despite all of her major hits, this one is her signature song. It is her Billie Jean.
2. ALEJANDRO - Her ode to ABBA and Ace of Base (yes!!). Fun silly song but I recommend The Remix version.
3. MONSTER - Best use of electronic tom toms since Good Times Roll by The Cars in 1978.
4. SPEECHLESS - proof that she has a little (maybe a lot) of Elton John in her. It will be interesting to see if this is her new direction for the next album.
5. DANCE IN THE DARK - Probably the most 80s sounding song, which is a total plus. References to Madonna (Vogue) and Bruce Springsteen (yes!!)...who else can do that???
6. TELEPHONE - O.M.G. Probably THE MOST CATCHY POP SONG EVER WRITTEN. I actually bought this album based solely on the 30 second snippet of this song. GENIUS. Gaga adds playful kiss-off lyrics, gimmicky vocal enhancements, hooks galore, bizarre background vox, KILLER BEATZ, Beyonce!, a clap machine, telephone rings, and an automated operator message all into a perfect pop song package. TWO WORDS: POP GENIUS.
7. SO HAPPY I COULD DIE - this song perfectly sums up how Gagas music makes me feel. Floating on a cloud, so happy I could die.

Lady Gaga is a real inspiration for the music industry of the 21st century. She is dramatically changing the way concerts are performed (creating entire plays and acts) from costumes to stage setups. She is a true performer and no she isnt only an entertainer, she is an artist. This album gets 5+ stars.
