Its inexpensive and it works. If youre looking for something with lots of features, this isnt the product for you. But if you just want an inexpenxive USB based KVM switch this one is it.

I had minor compatibility issue with one of the PC i have. After a couple of month of usage it will develop a issue with the PC where when i switch to that PC it will continue to blink the green light and will not turn solid and i was not able to see what is going on with that PC. After i plug all the cables and reconnected back to the KVM it will work. Can not get it to work if i only unplug the problem PC, all the cable needs to be removed ( i guess for it to rest or something).

Bought this to switch between two windows machine. It works great. I have a USB keyboard and mouse and if I want to switch between the 2 windows, machines I just have to hit a button. If youre looking for a basic 4 port KVM, this is a good one. The only missing feature is that it doesnt have a port for your speaker cable so whichever computer is your primary one is the one you should hook your speakers into.

This is exactly what I needed. Switching speed is fast. No drivers, no software, has expected plug-n-play USB, just plugged it in and it works. Having the monitor cable + single USB cord per attached computer is nice as well since I have an old laptop that is short on usb connections. Cables included was a no-brainer as these can get quite expensive if you opt to purchase them separately. SCROLL-LOCK (x2) key combination works for switching as well but I typically use the hardware buttons now that Ive gotten used to them. I have attached a newer HP Desktop (Windows 7), a 2 year old Toshiba Laptop (Win7), a two year old Compaq laptop (Win7) and an ancient PentiumII eMachine (512MB RAM) Windows XP and all computers worked flawlessly out of the box with their respective USB (auto) installs. I have a Logitech mouse that uses SetPoint software. This KVM even works with my center mouse clicking feature on my mouse which was not working with my older KVM. Perfect for home use or any computer/server you dont have or want a monitor for.
Very happy with this product, massive time saver and well worth the money.

Ive seen many comment on its placement of the connections, one each side making it a pain. Ok, thats true. My problem is I use VMWare often. When I move my mouse into the VM the KVM thinks I did something and it changes to the next computer. I then have to press the button on top switch.
Even with the slight hassle of hitting the button now and then after going into a VM, its still worth it.
Other than its funny plug locations on all sides, and the VM issue, its fine.

I have had this KVM switch for about 2 months now. No problem encountered so far. Compared to 2-port IOGear KVM I used in the past, it is comparable in performance while cheaper.
I have 2 Windows XP machines and 1 Ubuntu connected to this switch.
For some reason, I have to hit Num Lock instead of Scroll Lock when
switching out of Ubuntu. Thats no problem as long as it works.
It seems to take about 2 seconds to switch between machines, which is acceptable though a bit slower than IOGear.
One thing I found out is that if a machine is down, you cannot switch out of it until it completely boots again. This may be more than an inconvenience. I am not sure if that was the case with IOGear, or all other KVMs.
All in all, this KVM works for me well, and the price was right.
In any event, that would be bad if a machine

Ive used this for about a month now. I dont have any problems with it.
The ports are distributed on all 3 sides of this unit and hence easy to access. I use it with 2 computers right now. The hot key feature is smart enough to recognize that I have only 2 computers and hence swaps the controls by just hitting Scroll lock key twice. If there are more computers you will need to press the number keys corresponding the the PC you want to view/switch to. Good value for the price.

Our company purchased this item to switch between two G4 Power Macs and two older PCs. The Macs work perfectly--flawlessly--with this switch. Switching is almost instantaneous and weve not seen an error yet. However, the older PCs (running Windows 98) are a little squirrely in that they do find the USB keyboard and mouse, but when they are switched off for another computer for a while they lose track of the KVM switch, thus cant be accessed, and we have to hard restart them. I think this has more to do with the age of these PCs and their OS. If we had newer PCs running XP I think they would behave better. In the meantime, we will simply leave a keyboard

The TRENDnet 4-Port USB KVM Swith works just not as well as I would like. My major complaint is the lag when moving between CPUs. There is a significiant period of time before the mouse and keyboard are active following the switch. This is most notable if playing an MMO. The MMO simply locks up and you have to reboot.
The installation is well documented and easy. Having the cables included is also a real plus.
