I have tried a few different caps over the years and this is one of the best. It doesnt get all saggy and worn out prematurely like some do and it doesnt smell odd either after a few uses. Had a knit cap once that felt and looked good but smelled really odd after being washed. Was the kiss of death... it never smelled right after that. This one treats me right though.
The price is low enough that I bought some for my friends and family members. I keep a couple in my car trunk along with a set or two of knit gloves just in case a cold front rolls in unexpectedly.
Knit caps and gloves perform surprisingly well, are relatively inexpensive, and pack well.
