I Put this hardrive in my 3 year old PS3 so I could put more games movies music and its worked out great so if want do this with one of the older PS3s go to youtube and type PS3 upgade and you will see a link to a video.watch first before buying anything.

My baby (the PS3) is happier than ever!! While transferring the data to a new drive is a pain sometimes, its worth it to see all the extra space. I cant help but sing its praises, being a good sized drive the PS3 will support. Hope that this helped you in deciding!!

I got this to replace my original drive, which I think had become infected with a virus.
The price was great and the installation was easy; probably took less than five minutes. Thankfully, Id imaged my original disk with Acronis True Image Home 2010, so getting my computer back up and running was painless!!!
The only problem I had with this purchase was that the vendor shipped via a UPS service that ended up placing the package into the USPS system. This caused a delay of approximately two day, causing me to delay leaving on a trip by about a day. Thought about taking one star off of the review, but Im really happy with the product.

Got this Seagate drive to replace factory drive in a DELL Latitude D630. Installation took less than a minute. System recognized it just fine. O/S rebuild went without a hitch. Size is great, performance is better than expected and the drive runs supper quiet. Running Windows XP with VMware workstation and the dozen test VMs Ive got on this drive run perfectly. Thought about spending a few bucks less and getting a 500GB from different vendors but am happy I got this one instead.

I bought this drive to use with a OWC Mercury On-The-Go Portable 2.5 FW800/USB2.0 Enclosure Kit in order to have a bus-powered external drive for my MacBook Pro, both as supplemental storage and as an emergency boot drive. Its performed both functions well for nearly two years now. Its very quiet and fast enough to serve up video content at HD resolutions. It can run a little warm in an external case without forced convection, but this isnt a problem in most circumstances.

When I was looking for a replacement drive for my 120GB PS3 Slim, I knew I wanted to upgrade to a 7200rpm drive. After learning that the PS3 could only fit standard laptop 2.5 drives (not the server drives), I ended up choosing the Seagate Momentus 500GB 7200 for its capacity, speed and brand name. I bought the drive and installed it per Sonys instructions, turned it on and it worked as expected. Game installs, patches, downloads are noticeably quicker (~20-30%) but I think the PS3s SATA1 interface is limiting the performance potential of this drive. Regardless, after about 200hrs of use Ive had no problems with this drive. As a bonus, Its also very quiet (the PS3 system fan and DVD drive are louder). Overall a good purchase for any laptop or PS3 system.
