Got the starter kit free when I bought Samsung UN46C8000 46-Inch 1080p 3D 240 Hz LED HDTVand Samsung BD-C6900 1080p 3D Blu-ray Disc PlayerTwo pairs of glasses, havent used the glasses much because I bought Samsung SSG-2200AR Rechargeable Adult 3D Glasses, Blackbut when my son and daughter-in-law come over Ill be prepared. These glasses arent the rechareable battery type.The movie helped because at the time I got the starter kit Monsters vs Aliens was the only 3D movie out.

Why would anyone buy the starter kit, when you can buy 2 pair of glasses and the 3D movie for cheaper?

not much to say about this really, The packaging is really sharp looking and would make a good enought place to store your glasses if not being used for an extended length of time. They are made of lightweight plastic and despite what I had read in other reviews seem fairly sturdy obviously as with any glasses you aret going to want to sit on them or anything but they seem like they could take a fall and be ok. I have noticed that the hinge on pne pair has already become loose with use, nothing that couldnt be fixed with a screwdriver though. The battery compartment just slides open and changing batteries is very easy. I have no problem wearing these over my regular glasses and actually have noticed that unlike the glasses used in theaters the focal point between my regular glasses and the 3d glasses is not an issue and has no effect on the 3d. However I have noticed that people who normally wear glasses find them less annoying than people who dont. Also included are 2 sleeves for storing the glasses, they are ok for keeping the glasses dust free but they are somewhat difficult to remove the glasses from and you can end up getting fingerprints on the glasses while trying to wrangle them out. As far as the movie is concerned I found the 3D effect to be less than impressive and one character in particular always has a ghosting effect that despite messing with all the settings on my tv I was unable to fix also its a pretty basic release of the movie with the not for resale branded on the package in large print, it really seems more like an in store demo disc than a full release.

First things first. If you are not getting this free, dont buy this particular kit. Samsung has announced a newer version of the kit with an Imax Triple Feature disk(3 movies) and a voucher for How to Train your Dragon 3D.

The starter kit is a great way to begin your 3D watching appearance after getting a 3D TV and 3D Bluray player/PS3. However the quality of the glasses are worse than the throwaway glasses they give you at the movies. For the price, they could have given us much better quality frames. I agree its way overpriced but like most I got this free with my tv purchase, so I am not complaining.

Got this starter kit to go with my Mitsubishi WD 65738. Using them with my Mits kit. All work perfectly fine when being used together or at the same time. Emitter plugged into the back of the TV. The xpand 102s do not work with the Mits or Sammy glasses. Dont try! It is cheaper to buy the Sammy kit then get them one at a time. Now lets just hope we can get Avatar 3D by itself thus Christmas!!!!!!!! Please?

These 3d glasses (2) work as intended, and are fairly comfortable to wear. The 3d effect is amazing from Samsung tv.
The cost of the glasses seems unnassarily high for what they are. This review is based on about 5 3d viewings.

I got these as part of a 3D bundle with my new TV. Weve only watched one 3D movie and it was great; well it was great after we figured out how to make it work properly. Warning, if you have an AV Receiver that doesnt support HDMI 1.4 you wont be getting the 3D experience unless you bypass it.

Anyway, the glasses are of high quality, but they are expensive. I would love to have two additional sets and two additional kids sets, but that just entirely too much money. Im hoping that prices come down soon, so I can pick up the rechargeable variant. It seems to be a bit better than these.

I got this kit free with my Samsung UN46C7000 46-Inch 1080p 240 Hz 3D LED HDTV (Black), otherwise I wouldnt have spent the money on it. After watching Monsters vs. Aliens I had 3D figured for a novelty, but I was wrong. I have Comcast and they have 3D On-Demand movies and sports, so I watched the PGA Championship in 3D and was blown away! This is the future of TV! I cant wait for more live action 3D content instead of animated kids movies.

The glasses themselves are a little fragile feeling, but I treat them like my expensive prescription glasses and Im sure they will hold up fine. Im not too worried about the batteries because you can get them cheap now on the internet. I also like the battery saving features, although it can be hard for my family to tell when theyre on or off.

If youre underwhelmed by the animated films currently on 3D, wait until you see live action movies and events!

Not a ton of 3D content out there now (Aug 2010) ... so the value is not great. But WOW -- 3D on a plasma is soooo high quality, its sick. (LCDs have ghosting a bit, but not too bad)

This starter kit comes with two sets of glasses and a copy of Monsters 3D. Its pretty amazing technology. If you wear glasses as I do, there is some distortion of the perimeter of the view which is a little bothersome. For those who are glasses free, expect very realistic 3D. My son likes to wear them with the TV set as 2D TV to 3D - not as good but still amazing.

These unit come with replaceable batteries and these seem to last quite a while as the glasses turn themselves off after a few minutes of no signal from the TV. So far still using the batteries that came with the units, but dont know how many hours of use it has been so far, since they get used often by the kids.

I think these are a little overpriced, but as with any new technology, the first year that the product is out generally means that you will pay more. Expect the price to fall as time passes and more 3D TVs become available.

This was a great buy. Cant believe TV is finally in the 3D. I personally love watch Chelsea FC in 3D. Dont be afraid to utilize the full capabilities of your 3D TV. This product is amazing and revolutionary.
