I needed a way to connect my DVR to my computer monitor because I did not want to buy a second screen just to watch TV in my office. This tiny Sabrent box let me hook up the DVR using composite video and then I hooked up the VGA cable from the monitor to the Sabrent box. I also hooked my computers VGA cable into the box. It is really easy to switch from one to the other. My only con is that there is no off button for the Sabrent box, so I have to unplug the power from it, but that is not a bog deal. The box is smaller then the size of all the cables, so its tricky to get it to rest on a desk, but that was expected. In the end this saved me desk space, and saved me money from having to buy a second TV.
