This very short (1 foot or 30 cm) S-video + stereo RCA phono audio cable is excellent quality for the price and is great to minimize signal loss and cable clutter. Just be sure it is really long enough for your needs. I was able to use it, but because of the shortness and stiffness of the cable, the S-video connector can pull out from the component jack if there is any strain. Unfortunately, that is a common problem with ALL S-video cables and jacks, regardless of the quality. (Another problem with S-video connections is the infernal difficulty of aligning the jacks and plugs, since the connector is round and the pins are hard to see. The pins CAN be bent if you try to rotate by feel and/or force the plug in.) In my case, I still want to use S-video connections in order to obtain the best possible quality when recording onto a DVD recorder. Fortunately, the other end of my cable is connected to a small switchbox that will move slightly to accommodate the strain.
