I bought this unit about 3 years ago after my wifes car was stolen - we got it back but never found the stereo remote. I love this thing! I am about to replace the stereo in my truck and am probably choosing a Pioneer stereo just because I want to get another of these remotes. The only problem I have ever had with this remote not working is when I have the wheel turned like when turning a sharp corner and try to press a button then. It must just be the line of sight is too far away then. But that is really no problem. My wife and I have really enjoyed this remote, and it was completely worth the $50 I paid direct from Crutchfield. Im so glad I found it on your site so I can buy another one!

Received the Pioneer CDSR 100 Remote and was very impressed at its compact size. The controls are very easy to access and can be operated with ease while driving. Attaching it to the steering wheel took a little time but after studying the figures in the directions--the remote wasnt very hard to put on at all. The only noticable problem(trying to eliminate this problem by repositioning the remote on the steering wheel)is the radio receiving the commands from the remote. I couldnt get the remote to work the radio while attached to the left side of the steering wheel. Is it too far from the radio?? I will try moving the remote to different locations on the steering wheel and see what that does. Otherwise, I like the size and the control functions of the remote.

Well it has been a helpful device, but its reception is not that good. I guess they dont test this in a car but actually pointing to the stereo directly, so they say it works!! But I need to have the steering wheel centered with the RC almost facing the stereo so it can work ok. At least you shouldnt use it while your turning the steering wheel, you should focus on the road anyway...

I like the features this product offers, and I like the wireless remote. It was very quick and easy to install on the steering column. However, I have this not even 3 feet from the receiver, and get limited results. Sometimes it will register, and some times it wont. It would be nicer if the wireless range would increase just a little more so that I could have function at all times.

I bought this because I have a Honda Accord 2003 LX, which has the cruise buttons on the right hand side of the steering, but no music controls. I fixed it on the left hand side of my steering say approximately 8 o clock position. It workd fantastic. It does have a lag of say 1 minute or so right after I start the car, but works like a charm after that. Fixing it to the steering was a slippery task and needs some strength. It did pop out a couple of times while adjusting volume (buttons on the back!), but once you get a hang of it - its fun using it.

I really love this remote, I have been purchased three of them. I only buy Pioneer Car Stereos because I love to have the control in the steering wheel.

I only gave it four stars because I took Users advice and had to do some minor surgery. It would have gotten two stars beforehand. Really some good advice. USER. It now works perfectly, all the time. I cant believe Pioneer would hire engineers that could overlook such an important design flaw. They should probably be taken out and shot, or at least fired. Maybe sent back to school. Oh well, I am glad I had to opportunity to get a steering wheel control, and thanks to the reviewers on this site for helping to make it much better. BL

As I researched this purchase the most common complaint is that it doesnt work in the bright light. I have found this is accurate. Otherwise this works well.

Like all electronics, Pioneer has its good points and not so good. Two examples: I have their top of the line NAV system in my car and it is fantastic, but the use of light colored side roads makes them difficult to see in the day - almost useless in bright sunlight, and no control can help that. (Are you listening, Pioneer for the next update?)
So again, the Pioneer Cdsr100 Steering Wheel Remote Control works great but the mount has a poorly designed clip to keep it on the steering mount. Having said all that, I would still purchase both of them again. I did a month of research before deciding on Pioneer for my 3000GT.
