Im considerably less enthusiastic about this head than the other reviewers. I purchased it for a specific purpose: to take panoramas. To take architectural panoramas, the camera should be LEVEL. I really have a hard time leveling a ball head. This unit allows all three axes to be adjusted independently, and I find that much easier. And its much lighter and more compact than a regular panhead with levers.
This panhead has one major problem. It supposedly supports more than 6 lbs, but the adjusting clamps adjust from firmly tight to very loose with a very small turn. If the load is not balanced, the camera can flop quickly. This occurs with loads that are considerably less than 6 lbs. Most of the time a camera mounted on a tripod is not properly balanced.
If you like to fiddle with the tilt adjustments after setting up the camera on the head, you may be better off with a regular panhead. Heres one that supports more than 26 pounds on a good tripod. Price is only $5 more than this head.

Not much to say about it. Its small/junior size, but it works great with my Nikon D90. No complaints.

I got this for my 055XB tripod, and it is inexpensive (relatively) and very solidly engineered, as you would expect of Manfrotto.

I have had the 3025 for 29 years on a 3001 tripod. This equipment is built to last.I have traveled to several countries and many different terrains and this combo has never failed.
The only draw back is that the knobs are slower than the quick release. But once it is set you will get the shot. Especially useful when you want shots over time.
I admit I do not have any other tripods. But if you start with professional grade you never need to upgrade.
