Mac OS X Snow Leopard. Better. Faster. Easier.
Mac OS X Snow Leopard is an even more powerful and refined version of the world's most advanced operating system. In ways big and small, it gets faster, more reliable, and easier to use. New core technologies unleash the power of today's advanced hardware technology and prepare Mac OS X for future innovation. And Snow Leopard includes built-in support for the latest version of Microsoft Exchange Server, so you can use your Mac at home and at work.
The world's most advanced operating system.
Power of UNIX. Simplicity of the Mac.
Mac OS X is both easy to use and incredibly powerful. Everything--from the desktop you see when you start up your Mac to the applications you use every day--is designed with simplicity and elegance in mind. So whether you're browsing the web, checking your email, or video chatting with a friend on another continent, getting things done is at once easy to learn, simple to perform, and fun to do. Of course, making amazing things simple takes seriously advanced technologies, and Mac OS X is loaded with them. Not only is it built on a rock-solid, time-tested UNIX foundation that provides unparalleled stability, it also delivers incredible performance, stunning graphics, and industry-leading support for Internet standards.
Perfect integration of hardware and software.
Since the software on every Mac is created by the same company that makes the Mac itself, you get an integrated system in which everything works together perfectly. The advanced technologies in the operating system take full advantage of the 64-bit, multicore processors and GPUs to deliver the greatest possible performance. The built-in iSight camera works seamlessly with the iChat software so you can start a video chat with a click. Your Mac notebook includes a Multi-Touch trackpad that supports pinching, swiping, and other gestures. And the OS communicates with the hardware to deliver incredible battery life by spinning down the hard drive when it's inactive, by intelligently deciding whether the CPU or GPU is best for a task, and by automatically dimming the screen in low-light conditions.
Elegant interface and stunning graphics.
The most striking feature of a Mac is its elegant user interface, made possible by graphics technologies that are built to leverage the advanced graphics processor in your Mac. These technologies provide the power for things like multiway chatting, real-time reflections, and smooth animations. Fonts on the screen look beautiful and extremely readable. A soft drop shadow makes it clear at a glance which window is active and which ones are in the background. You can preview just about any type of file using Quick Look, and because the previews are high resolution, you can actually read the text. Built-in support for the PDF format means you can view or create PDFs from almost any application in the system.
Highly secure by design.
Mac OS X doesn't get PC viruses. And with virtually no effort on your part, Mac OS X protects itself from other malicious applications. It was built for the Internet in the Internet age, offering a variety of sophisticated technologies that help keep you safe from online threats. Because every Mac ships with a secure configuration, you don't have to worry about understanding complex settings. Even better, it won't slow you down with constant security alerts and sweeps. And Apple responds quickly to online threats and automatically delivers security updates directly to your Mac.
Built for compatibility.
The versatility and power of Mac OS X make it compatible in almost any environment, including Windows networks. It works with virtually all of today's digital cameras, printers, and other peripherals without the need to manually download separate drivers. It opens popular file types such as JPG, MP3, and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents. In addition, Mac OS X includes built-in support for the industry-standard PDF format, so you can read and create PDFs from almost any application in the system--perfect for sharing work with colleagues whether they use a Mac or a PC. If you want to run Windows on your Mac, you can do that, too. And Mac OS X Snow Leopard is the only operating system with built-in support for the latest version of Microsoft Exchange Server, so you can use your Mac at home and at work and have all your messages, meetings, and contacts in one place.
Innovation for everyone.
Mac OS X comes standard with a wide range of assistive technologies that help people with disabilities experience what the Mac has to offer--including many features you won't find in other operating systems at any price. For example, the built-in VoiceOver screen-reading technology makes it possible for those who are blind or have low vision to control their computer using key commands or gestures on a Multi-Touch trackpad. Mac OS X also offers out-of-the-box support for over 40 braille displays, including Bluetooth displays, and many other accessibility features, such as dynamic full-screen magnification, playback of closed captions, and a scalable screen.
Reliable to the core.
The core of Mac OS X is built on the same ultrareliable UNIX foundation that powers industrial-strength servers, helping to ensure that your computing experience remains free from system crashes and compromised performance. Even upgrading your Mac to the next version of Mac OS X is reliable and easy. It checks your applications to make sure they're compatible and sets aside any programs known to be incompatible. If a power outage interrupts your installation, it can start again without losing any data. Best of all, upgrading doesn't require reformatting your drive; you can keep all your compatible applications, files, and settings. And if something goes wrong when you're using your Mac, Time Machine is there to keep automatic backups of everything on your drive.
Fully featured, fully loaded.
Mac OS X comes in a single, full-featured version that includes a large collection of beautifully designed applications. They not only let you surf the web, conduct video and text chats, manage your contacts, and accomplish other day-to-day tasks--they also work together to make you more productive and let you have more fun.

Upgraded from Tiger (10.4) to Snow Leopard (10.6). Snow leopard has alot of awesome new features, for me it was definitely worth buying, and so much cheaper on your site than at the apple store (180 at apple).

I bought the software to update my Mac computer that is only 3 years old. After buying the iphone 4.0, I came home to sync the phone (my first iphone to own) and got the error message saying my operating software did not support the new iphone. Apparently, I missed all the fine print when I bought new iphones and didnt know the iphone 4 would not run on the old tiger software. Apple wanted $169, but I got this for less than $100 on your site with free shpping and it was well worth the wait. I was happy to not support the apple store directly after they robbed me on the iphone and then wanted to screw me again on software.
The package came unopened and was shipped the day I ordered it. Everything installed just fine. The package was beat up after shipping and that is the only reason I am giving it a 4.0. It was wrapped in a bubble wrap envelope, but the USPS knows how to beat up a package and it looked like mine got smashed in the process. The contents worked fine, so I am very pleased and a dented box is worth $75 of savings to me.

Great service, product arrived actually ahead of the scheduled delivery date and in the condition advertised. As with all Mac products, the install was seamless and everything worked well on my upgrade from Tiger OS. I really like learning to work with Iwork, but then it is quite similar to MS Office. The difference is the coordination among the other programs (Keynote and Numbers and Pages) and the end result just looks more professional.

Completely worth the asking price. My hard drive recently failed on a 3+ yrs MacBook and with no backup I had to reinstall the original software. Of course it was hopelessly outdated and I was forced to upgrade. What you get for a little more than $100 is fantastic value. My Mac originally came with iLife, but not iWork. I was pleasantly surprised at how useful and easy to use Pages was and happy that Pages and Numbers easily handles Word and Excel files. No more clunky Word or Excel for Mac. On the iLife side I only use iPhoto and Garageband. The editing in iPhoto has now reached an almost professional level (with one click). Garageband is my new favourite toy for guitar. Love the amp modeling. I do experience a nano second latency if I stack up the amps and effects though, but that might just be my relatively old and slower Mac. Finally, the main reason why I upgraded - Snow Leopard. I am not a power user, but so far it has been good enough to get me to change from Firefox to Safari (which is now much faster than Firefox on my Mac and very stable). Apple certainly does not need any more hype, but considering the prices of new software releases, it is doubtful that a deal like this will come along again soon. Oh, one last thing to note, its Oct. 2010 now and this includes iLife 09 and iWork 09. Chances are new versions of these (as well as Snow Leopard) is around the corner, but if, like me, you have an older Mac that youll need to replace in a couple of years anyway it might be worth your while.

Excellent price, excellent service, it was received before the expected shipping date, if I remember correctly, so that made me a happy camper. Item was as ordered, new, item packaging in excellent condition, and packaged well within the carton also. I am thrilled to have been able to make this purchase with such a savings for myself. I would definitely purchase from AMS again!

I have an older IMac. I was updating from Tiger to Snow Leopard. The install for Snow Leopard, I Life and I Work went smooth. The updates do take awhile. Everything seems to be working well.

I just recently upgraded the memory and hard drive on my macbook pro and I thought it would also be a great idea to update my MAC OS. This box set is a great deal. I love the snow leopard OS and upgrading the iLife suite on top of getting iWork was definitely worth it. My macbook pro is like new without paying the price.

Snow leopard is a significant upgrade from Tiger. Its like getting a new computer. The iWork and iLife upgrades are significant also. The installation process took some hours and was trouble free. I lost no data and only had to reconfigure Airport once complete.

I have been very happy with snow leopard. I upgraded from tiger and didnt have any problems. The only thing I decided to do was upgrade my memory from 1GB to 2GB about $50. It was running well but this allowed to have more applications open at once without a slow down. I have a 4yr old MacBook 2,1 2.0 Ghz Intel Duo. I may have to buy the new wireless trackpad to get full use the of multitouch features. I have also been very pleased with Time Machine. Already had external back up but not good software with it. Now I do.

I cannot say enough good things about Snow Leopard. I am thrilled to have my new Macbook with this already installed, and I am impressed at the speed at which I connect and surf online now! Even though I paid for the faster connection, the speed just hasnt been there. My connection is so fast it feels like I am paying for a faster connection, when all I had to do was upgrade my operating system! Go Mac!!!

This upgrade product was needed for my macbookpro which I purchased in late August 2007, prior to the new operating system. This is a great price and it works great. It does, however, take several hours to install.

I purchased this software bundle after long deliberation, having experienced Microsoft upgrade hassles in the past I was cautious to say the least. The software installed great and I lost nothing in the way of files or all my particular settings..nothing!! BUT I ran into issues with Microsoft Office 2004, which caused problems syncing from Entourage appointments to iCal, there were no issues under Tiger 10.4.11 software ever, but 10.6.4 / SL has some flaws, when syncing to iCal, you will find that the appointments,in my case were 7 hours later than should be and also that under Snow Leopard the activity monitor shows that all Microsoft products are running in the kind category as PowerPC instead of what they should be as Intel as I am running on 2.33GHZ dual core Intel processors, MacBook Pro (2007) needless to say Apple pointed to Microsoft, hate that finger pointing s**t, and they (Microsoft) told me this was a known issue with the kind (PowerPC vs Intel) and hour time offset, so I am now upgrading to Office 2008 with the free offer to upgrade to Office 2011 when that comes out in October 2010, (Apple, Best Buy and your site are all valid resellers for this free upgrade offer) as Microsoft tells me that the kind in 2008 is Intel and that there are no time difference issues syncing to iCal..I also want to make it clear that all the Office products work fine, just the syncing to iCal so I can have my appointments on my iPhone is the main issue. Anyway...
We will see, I get it tomorrow...
Im not really sure the speed of my laptop is any faster though as other people have said, although it is true that the hard drive did free up almost 10Gb, anyway all is updated and current now...Tiger was getting left behind in update support..Apple is still a good product..
8/13/10 UPDATE, so I have received & installed the Microsoft Office 2008, and yes it all works, the kind in activity monitor now shows all Intel for all the M/Office 2008 products, I had had the sync option shut down to sync in preferences until I had moved to 2008 & it only took a few seconds to sync right up with iCal, all perfect..now another thing I have noticed about Snow Leopard is that my computer runs better, it does not heat up like it did with Tiger..well built OS platform.. 5 Stars Apple
