Ive had the latte for approximately four weeks now. I was surprised by the weight of the player; it has a nice heft, and not cheap feel that I thought it might. The screen is large, and video looks great on it. Its not HD but for less than $200, it does what it does very well. To test video on it, I took a DVD and converted it to avi, and it plays full screen. I also used Aimersoft video converter to take an Apple music video and remove the DRM, and converted it to WMV. Having to convert a video is an extra step that I dont really like doing, but at the time I bought this, Zune hadnt yet come out with the Zune HD64, and I will never buy another Ipod again....Ive owned both and Ipod and a Zune. My 80gb Zune was dead due to some bent pins causing the charging cord not to work anymore. The only way to fix bent pins is to get a new motherboard which I couldnt do because Zune stopped making the 80gb players. In short, you cant really compare the Latte to the Zune or the Ipod.
The Latte doesnt support playlists, but I have found if you simply create a folder and make your own playlist that way, it works just fine. You just have to go under Files instead of Music and locate your folder with your playlist on it.
I bought a 16gb microSD card to bring it up 48gb, and thats more than enough room for all my music and the occasional movie for traveling.
I was impressed that it came with a nice leather case that has an easel so you can set it up for viewing. The headphones are also quality, and not the cheap earbuds I was expecting.
Unfortunately, like most media players, the battery is internal. It would be nice if players were made with removable batteries, like cell phones but I am acutely aware that everything these days is designed to be disposable....The battery will last for at least five to six hours of audio. I usually mess with the volume and switch to the next song (even in shuffle mode) so I know this eats up additional battery power, and I dont listen to it for more than an hour at a time usually. Ive never watched a whole lot of video on it since I bought it so I dont know how long the battery will truly last on that.
There arent a lot of wallpapers to choose from, and pictures you load on it cannot be displayed as wallpaper. This of course, is not a dealbreaker, but would be nice a feature for Latte to include on future models. Otherwise, I am extremely happy with this purchase.

Have had this since march 29, 2010. Found out it is not compatible with my version of windows. I went to the lattefone website to try to download the fix for widows and only got error messages saying that this update is not needed for this computer. I tried on my computer and my moms computer which have the same OS. I took it to school and tried with the computers there, they have windows professional, it works fine with those computers. I emailed product support and I got an email back about 2 days later saying they will email me again in 24-48 hrs and got another one a week or so later saying that I had a faulty USB cable and that they would replace that. I emailed right away to let them know it wasnt a faulty USB and havent heard back, that was a week ago. Right at the moment it is in a repair shop because my friend ran into me and knocked it out of my hand and the digitizer screen cracked all the way across. Lucky it wasnt the lcd screen because that is much more expensive to replace. I didnt expect it to break because it is a heavy little unit and doesnt feel like it is cheaply made and I had it in its case. So if you get this dont let it fall. I like this player, really I do, but wish they would have better firmware for it. Before you spend any money on this, if you have windows vista, go to the lattefone site and see if you can download and install the update, or be prepared to use someone elses computer to put any music or video on it.

Got this mainly for movies, documentaries, etc. Screen looks great and not small. Lots of space! Even without the extra 16G micro card.
Easy to transfer movies or video. Just right click my video files (in Vista) and send them right to removable drive...goes into appropriate place. Movies can be paused and resumed when chosen at a later time. Sound is very good
.
The new earbuds didnt work. They sounded like static or tinny. I plugged in some Radio Shack headphones and wow...what a nice sound. I own a small Cowon mp3 player (iaudio 7) which has exceptional sound. I can truly say that I am not disappointed with the audio on the Latte Cafe. Cant judge earbuds...but my 30 dollar RS stereo headphones sound great. I did listen to the sample song on the Cafe and it sounded good! Didnt load any music yet. Didnt think I would appreciate the sound...but now I will put music on this player, as well. Oh yeah...it has an equalizer too!
Love the leather case with the stand in the back! Thanks Latte for this very thoughtful and handy case! The clips on the case hold the Cafe screen well. I did have to bend one in slightly to have a tight fit on one side of the screen. Was happy that I could adjust it a bit. Telescoping little stylus...cute and compact. Can use it separate or attach to ready made hole in case and unscrew top to reveal the fine tip stylus. Keeps stylus portable and handy. You also, have a usb cord which can plug to computer or you can use the usb to little AC adapter plug that is supplied. Also, you have TV AV cables and a handy little netted pouch to carry your earbuds. Can probably attach the little pouch, to the case, too.
I checked out the text part and found that I could change font size and color. Might read some ebooks. Not sure how to add text files, yet. Hope that Latte folks will update this device a bit to include a reader. Yet, text reading will work well.
Wish this device had stated more battery life...but it is a bigger screen. I dont know if charge will last as long as stated. I just got the device and did my first charge...though indicator showed full charge out of the box.
Havent tried recording...didnt buy it to record. Guess its useful. Calendar, time and picture viewing are useful too. Dont know yet if I can add more wallpapers than the device has loaded. Still researching things.
All in all...I wanted a decent portable movie player with good space for plenty of shows. Got that and a good sounding music player too...at a decent price.

I was looking to upgrade from my 8 gb Sandisk mp3 to a device with greater storage capacity. When I saw the latte cafe which had 32gb vs some of the other players that had just 16 gb it seemed worth it to take a gamble on the latte, despite not having heard too much about the brand, since it was cheaper in price than others I was looking at which had with lesser capacity...and the latte came with a charger & case in addition to the lesser pricetag.
Im pretty glad with my decision so far. The player is easy to load & use. I love that it has speakers built right in so I can use it at my desk at work without having to wear headphones. The instruction manual it came with is a bit vague on some things (like equalization settings, but Ive been able to figure out the major things. Also, sometimes it seems like you need to hold down the on/off switch for more than 3 seconds in order to get the device to turn on, but it works properly once it powers up. One other negative is that it needs to be charged a lot more often than my old 8 gb Sandisk, but that might be common for devices with greater memory (not sure?).
Overall Id say the latte cafe is definitely worth getting & that you cant go wrong for the price.

Ive been looking to purchase an MP3 player for over a year now and I read tons of reviews. None of the MP3 players did what I wanted all in the same player for as inexpensively as this player does! This baby has a lot of features for the price, under $200! I also decided to buy a warranty for it, that is sold on your site, just in case anything breaks. Electronics tend to be delicate and warranty periods on most stuff isnt very long. I highly recommend doing this, but of course its not required.
I am an older person with arhtritis and eye problems. Its a nice looking player, crisp videos, very clear and the colors pop out at you! I did not expect the videos to come out so nice. This is a good size player too, not one of those tiny things that one can drop so easily. I know people like tiny but its hard on those of us who are older or have disabilities. The screen is pretty easy to read and it has both words and icons. The larger size makes it easier to handle for those of us who have arthritis. Its a touch screen, but one can also use a stylus if one prefers. I was able to hook the stylus onto the player and just fold it up into it when on the go. The touch screen is not very sensitive, but I found it you tap it it works well. I love the fact it has its own internal speakers, no need to use headphones, but it came with them anyway. My family likes them, I have yet to use them as I had my own set I prefer to use. It can hold a lot too, it has 32GBs and you can also use a memory card with it.
I found it very easy to load my music onto it, plug it into the pc just copy and paste or drag and drop. It did not seem to copy my folders though, not sure it copied all my music within the folders either, but I need to spend time figuring it all out. For now I do have a lot of music to listen to. I admit Im not very good with electronics, it takes a while for me to catch on, but thats where my kids and friends come in. lol.
I love the fact you can download movies and play them on the TV, but have not tried out this feature yet, so I cant review it.
I bought it because sometimes I travel and I wanted something to while away the time. I can now listen to music and watch a movie or videos.
It comes with everything you need to get started with, wires for charging and for connecting to the computer, you just have to plug it in and charge it up. I thought it really great that my tracfone charger also works on this player and so did my digital camera wires to the pc. Very handy in case something happens to one of them.
I highly recommend this to everyone, but especially to those like me who have arthritis or are not very electronically inclined and who are also a tight budget.

I recently bought an different version. It has one game but cannot add more. I am considering buying another one for my sister and she would love to have more games. Does anybody know if this one can add games? Appreciate your information. Thanks

I purchased the Cafe as a hold over while my Archos 5Archos 5 60 GB Internet Media Tablet is away having its headphone jack repaired. I also have a Palm Pre but that battery life on it isnt that great when being used as a media player.
The touch screen is ok but no where near as responsive as the A5 or Pre.
The resolution is ok but you can see the pixels somewhat like you can with a ninteno ds.
I use windows media player and it syncs just like its supposed to just be sure to set up your sunc option before starting otherwise it will try and sync everything on the computer.
The sound is pretty good.....if you have a good set of headphonesV-MODA Bass Freq Earbuds - Bling Bling Black. The included headphones look like they are of high quality but music sounds like a tin can. The twin built in speakers are nice but are lacking compared to my Pre.
I played around with the recording feature and it works well.
Overall its a simple solidly built unit but it falls short of my Archos 5. If and when my A5 is repaired Ill give this to my wife. Also the fact that your site is currently selling the 250gb version of the Archos 5 for $199 takes almost all of the value away since the A5 has better resolution, a better touch screen, wifi, and more features.
