First of all, ignore the reviews that talk about how laggy it was when they played at the mall. That was pre-beta code that has been majorly changed since then. Second, if theres a hard-core gamer who says Kinect will fail, ignore them because they arent the target audience for this. That being said, who is the target audience? Its for families and party groups, and I speak from experience. Ive been in the beta for this for the last few months and I can say that every single person who plays this loves it and says they will absolutely buy one for Christmas. Its an amazing experience like no other and it puts Wii and Move to shame. It wont work with every game out there (Im not going to play Gears of War with it), but for the games that they have released, its perfect. Dance Central is a blast, Adventure is tons of fun and the exercise games are perfectly suited for this type of peripheral -- no one else is. And any device that gets my kids off the couch and dancing and jumping around is a winner in my book. Its brought the whole family together and works for all ages, from small kids to grandparents who wouldnt touch an Xbox controller. The fact that its full motion, voice AND video built into one device is amazing. I love watching a football game on ESPN3 and being able to pause, fast forward and rewind, all with my voice. The technology is amazing and its only going to get better. Its completely worth the money and is going to be the #1 gift this holiday season. Count on it.

I purchased the Kinect at the midnight release. First, I must tell you that the kinect is very accurate. So much so that I was really surprised. Ive read people complaining about the kinect not reacting properly when they played it at the mall. This was probably due to poor set up and calibration from whoever set it up. Rest assured that when you plug in your kinect at home you will have a great time. It reacts properly and any sort of lag is hardly noticeable at all. What you will notice is how much fun you and your friends and loved ones are having while playing the kinect. Its just a different way to play games that truly is quite enjoyable. I just played Kinect Adventures with somebody online and had a great time. And when I want to play games like Uncharted 2 and COD, I can pick up a ps3 or xbox controller and play that, too. A lot of people are upset that the kinect is even coming out, saying its just for casual player blah blah blah. I love my hardcore games, and this is not going to replace the controller. It is, however, an incredible add-on that gives the player an immersive experience when you want to play something different. Absolutely love it!

Just got it from BestBuy. Boy, it is so cool. Works much better than I expected. Granted that there are still some issue like the space requirement. But overall, it is really cool!

Was at the midnight launch in Times Square.. over 5000 people showed up! Finally got home and set it up. Calibration was neccesary but it was really quick. The voice technology is really astounding and I havent delved too deep yet but so far, so good.
Dance Central is amazing and makes Just Dance look like garbage. Kinectimals is really cute, like a Pixar movie. Gametrailers just gave it an 8.5, and its well deserved! My son loves it. Kinect Sports is very polished, more than I thought it would be. The party mode is real fun. Kinect Adventures is a great game for a packaged title and I see why they chose to bundle it. I also have Joyride but I havent played it yet so I cannot comment on it.
Kinect is the real deal.. I just hope all you guys can get your hands on one since its sold out everywhere. This is definitely the Christmas gift to get this holiday, hands down!

Its amazing how it knows our skeletal structure, but i dont see how it can be applied to hardcore games well... Really we need the Kinect and a controller. Also the Lag is HORRIBLE in SOME games, not all... Overall, I wouldnt have minded pay $60 for this, unfortunately i paid $149.99 :/
