Years ago you could buy cheap, stand-alone surge protectors for your modem. Those days are long gone and now they try to get you to buy expense equipment that *includes* the surge suppressor. Ive blown out a lot of suppressors over the years and that is all I want, in the cheapest package possible.
While I dont need the AC filter features that this unit offers, this *is* the cheapest thing that fulfills my needs. Buy several at one time to reduce the shipping costs per unit and these units are a steal.
