I was playing Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles. With the original cable, the picture was kind of dark and fuzzy. It was kind of painful to play the game because I cannot see everything clearly. With this new cable, the quality of the picture is noticeably improved. Now I enjoy playing the game much better. I would recommend this cable.

If you have a hd tv then it does make a difference on the newer games. My husband noticed a big difference on the hunting and WWII games. Doesnt do much for the original sport games. Glad I got them.

I actually bought this in December 2008. Well I just recently bought a cheap video capture card that does not capture with Component Cables, so I had to switch back to the original Composite cables that came with the Wii.
So, I switched the cables out and now it is on its Composite cables. And Oh my god!! There was an HUGE difference in quality. The game I was going to record was very blurry and the text was blurry and hardly readable! A part of me practically died because of it!
After playing the Wii for almost 2 years on this product: HD Link for Wii by Nyko I noticed the very huge difference. I originally got this product for Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World, and to tell you the truth I didnt really notice any difference. But I still used it anyways.
So over these near 2 years, my eyes have been only used to this product and now that I switch back to Composite I can definitely tell the difference! It makes things a lot more sharper and the colors also was better with these cables!
BASICALLY, I am saying that if you have an HDTV you should get these. You may or may not notice a difference at first. But as you get used to them and then go back to Composite you will definitely notice a big big big big big difference!!
I LOVE THEM!!!

We bought this as a gift for the grand-daughters. Highly recommended if you have HDTV. Otherwise if you have CRT never mind!

I got this for the kids not so much for the Wii Games but instead for them to watch Netflix-through-Wii. It actually raises the clarity enough that it is quite noticeable on a 42 screen. Remember to go into the Wii setup and choose the higher resolution output or you wont notice any difference.

This is a great addition if you have a Wii hooked up to a television with component video inputs. And its half the price of what you would pay for a similar cable at retail stores.
What really impressed me was how the cable is constructed. Most of the cable is a single thicker cable, and only the end that hooks on to the TV is broken out into the separate video and audio hookups. So you dont have 5 separately wrapped wires running all the way from the Wii to the back of the television. Makes for a neat, organized installation.
If you want to hook up your Wii via component video, this is the way to go.

I just upgraded to a 32 720p Bravia and decided to upgrade my Wii to component video from the composite video. However, I have failed to see any noticeable difference in quality by switching to component video (I doubt if it has anything to do with this cable particularly). Please note that I have indeed changed my Wii settings to progressive, so it is not due to my ignorance that I dont see a difference in quality. I just think that if one is using 480 then either interlaced or progressive appears almost the same and so it does not perhaps make much sense to change to this cable. I decided not to return this cable though since I think it would have cost me the shipping and so no point on saving just a few bucks.
As for this specific cable, I think that the quality is fine and I did not find any thing wrong with the cable itself per se. Therfore, if you indeed want to go down the component video road, I think it does not make much sense to use a more expensive cable from Nintendo itself.

Well I hooked up my sons Wii at his grandparents house, but had one problem, they were using all the normal av cable slots, so I had to unhook their DVD player just to play the Wii every time. I ordered these because they used component slots which were not in use. So problem solved. However additionally they are better quality cables with a higher refresh rate which is great. Super easy.

This cable do the perfect job !
My Wii is a PAL version, and I use this cable to plug it on a NTSC TV, and the quality is better with this cable as the regular one.

I have Super Mario for my Wii - the graphics are much nicer with the HD Link cable than with the cable that came with the Wii. It is well worth the money.

This link is supposed to allow the user to display the information from a Wii in widescreen without data corruption or interference. I have no complaints, it does what it is meant to do. The cable seems to be high quality, nice and heavy insulation and gold contacts to boot.
Dont forget that if you get this cable and set it up with a widescreen tv there are a couple of things you have to do to get it to work right. First, you have to set the screen settings in the wii menu for 1) widescreen and 2) high def signal, then you have to set the picture size or aspect ratio of that specific input for the correct dimensions.
This should have been what Nintendo packaged in with the Wii. Since the vast majority of people who have and use a Wii are going to be under 30 then odds are they would have a tv that is less than 10 years old and by virtue of that fact most Wii users are going to have widescreen t.v.s, most likely 720p capable. My t.v. is 46 and 1080p and with this cable I only notice a small amount of graininess but that is to be expected since the wii is at most capable of 480i (or p??) signal. But at least with this cable I can now get the signal to fill the screen without the picture appearing stretched.
Some people give this cable low marks because they expected that with this cable the signal would be magically high def, but remember that the Wii is ONLY capable of a 480 signal. Thats all youre going to get. If you want the Wii to be true high def then either find a genie and make some wishes or take some electronics classes at your local tech school because short of that it will never happen.

Bought this to use on my Wii, made a large difference in clarity with how games look. Its a great addition to any wii owner to make his games look that much sharper.

while this wont be a crystal clear HDMI quality picture (the wii is not capable of this kind of image) it is a better upgrade than just using the standard composite cables. with that said, the biggest reason i bought this was because i HAD to buy it. my tv does not have standard composite - only component with composite audio. i cant comment on whether or not it upgraded the picture, but it does look better than what the standard tv signals look like. all in all, this cable does what its supposed to do so im perfectly satisfied.

Ive been playing a lot of Wii games lately so I thought Id give this a try and now I wish I had this a lot earlier. The Wii will never output at full HD resolution (1080p), but this made a difference I could see. I switched to this in the middle of playing of Metroid Prime Trilogy and the image became noticeably crisper and clearer. Make sure you switch the settings on your Wii to output at 480p. I have a large LCD HD tv so this review is based on that, its probably not worth it if youre using an older CRT box type TV.

I needed a component cable set to display 480p streaming video from Netflix through my Wii console and then to my plasma. There are more expensive and cheaper ones available but this set appears to be very good quality for the price. It is not really HD but ED is the best the Wii can muster. Video quality of the Netflix movies is very good

I cant believe anyone can say they see NO difference in picture quality with these component cables. Excuse me? Its like a night and day difference!! I bought a little 26 in. LCD 720p for my kids to exclusively play their Wii on. I was really disappointed when I hooked up the standard Wii AV cables and the picture was completely blurry. I almost returned the TV and hooked the Wii back up to the standard TV they had been using(I wont let them dominate my large 1080p with video games all day and night!). I was so pleased to see a crystal clear Wii picture on the LCD after installing these component cables. You do have to go into the Wii menu and change the settings, but that can be done by a 5 year old!
Anyone with an LCD needs these cables. Wii has no HDMI jacks so component cables are the only way to get a clear picture. I give these cables 5 stars and an A+. My kids think Im pretty smart now, too!

I purchased this product, on sale, direct through your site for $14, largely because it was less expensive than the official Wii cables, and because of the large number of predominately positive reviews.
I hooked up my Wii to a 42inch plasma screen with the HD Link component cable and changed the settings in the Wii. I was pleased that there was an obvious improvement in the clarity of the picture and a decrease in image lag time.
Some of the reviewers have given lukewarm reviews, and thats understandable if you expect your Wii is going to give you 720p or 1080p. If you realize what you are getting [component cables], and youre considering buying this, I think you will be pleased with these cables.
Ive had the cables installed for over a month, used daily, and have had no problems with the cable whatsoever.
