Hi, I am 11 years old and I LOVE this game. I didnt get so far in it yet, but it is really cool. You can go along with the story, or you can explore how ever you want. There are a lot of places where you can explore. There are REAL fish in this game. You can click on them to feed them, heal them and read facts about them. It feels like you are really diving. You CAN run out of air but you have like 15 minutes. The controls are really easy too, its just pointing and holding B to swim, and pointing and pressing A to look at fish. My favorite thing about this game is that you can swim wherever you want and you can surface and explore islands around you. The one bad thing about this game is that you cant play it with your friends in the same Wii. You have to connect to the internet instead. Anyway, I really recommend this game, especially if you like open world games. Oh, and DONT buy the version with the microphone included unless you have friends who already have it.

This is a beautiful and relaxing game. A definite improvement over the first game, and a good title to fill the time between bigger titles.

This is a very fun relaxing game. Its somewhat educational too, I feel like I can identify a lot more sea creatures now! The music is nice and the story lines are fun. Its a really fun distraction but easy to walk away from as well.

All right, let me start off by saying that I loved the first Endless Ocean game (Endless Ocean: Dive, Discover, Dream). This one is every bit as good as the first one and better. This is a very good game that has plenty to do. In other words, you will always have some goal in this game to which you can aspire. Some have said that this game has a slow-moving story, but what you have to understand is that the storyline isnt really important in a game like this. This is just a free-exploration game.
Parents and kids will both love this one - and this game is fun for gamers of all skill levels. My only real criticism is with the storys characters (which, as I said, isnt really important). I love the story line, but the characters are rather... over the top. Theyre quite melodramatic, and the Japanese developers concept of Americans is rather amusingly stereotyped.
That being said, the gameplay makes up for that. Some of the people who are familiar with the first Endless Ocean game were probably curious about this ones ESRB E-10 rating. I have to say that that rating is indeed merited; unlike in the first game, several sharks and other species are actually a danger in this game, and extremely young children might find that frightening. I think it adds a level of depth (if youll pardon the expression) to the game without making it difficult.
You will be able to explore the oceans of the world in this game - where the first game took a limited view of a fictional island chain in the South Pacific, this game lets you dive into waters from the Red Sea to the Arctic Ocean, and even into a tributary of the your site River. The task of salvaging items in this game is defined very well, and unlike in the first game, it actually has a purpose and is more lucrative (meaning you earn the games fictional currency for items you salvage). You can also train dolphins (a process which is much more streamlined than in the first game), take clients on guided dives, take photos and send them to fictional magazines, and even dive with a partner online and use the WiiSpeak microphone (not sold with the game).
The graphics are just as stunning as in the first game, and the soundtrack by Celtic Woman was just as great as Hayley Westenras songs from the first one. The game is highly educational, giving you (or your kids) the opportunities to learn interesting facts about different species of marine life. Even if youve never played the first game, I would highly recommend this game. It stands completely on its own and is not in any way related to the first one except in title (the controls are also similar, but they are simple and are explained at the beginning of the game). This game is an enormous improvement over a game that was already good. Blue World is bigger, better, and generally a great deal of fun. If you buy this game, you will quickly become an addict.

I think this game is totally for people who want to be Marine Biologists. Its even for people who dont! I knew nothing about fish and sea life until I got this game. Its educational and fun! You can dive for people or just explore on your own.
This game is so much fun! When you enter a sharks territory you feel fear! At least I did. And Im not easily scared. Its no blood or anything nasty; its just plain scary. (I sure many disagree with me, though.) The experience is life changing! You will find yourself sitting super close to the TV and staring at fish youve never even heard of!
Basically Im saying that this game is for everyone (10+), from adventurers to couch potatos! I love it and I hope you do too!

I generally concur with all the other rave reviews (amazing graphics: check; lots of levels of exploration: check; peaceful experience with soothing music: check; meandering exploration permitted and encouraged: check), but write to note how much my 6 year-old daughter LOVES this game. It has many educational features including compass reading, marine biology info, puzzle solving (how to break the ice pillars?), spatial-memory skills (where was the Wreck of the Emerald Lady?), time management (theres always that ticking air-tank!), geography, and reading. But it never feels like an educational game in which learning is the whole point. Its also nice that the violence is minimal (indeed, unnaturally so - my daughter asked me the second day why none of the animals in the game eat other animals) and theres nothing I worry about my daughter seeing in the game if I am not watching her play. I usually do watch her play though because she derives such joy from it. She is really excited about our next snorkeling trip, and it has been amazing to hear her at aquariums name 100s of fish by sight alone. (i cant say the same for myself, but it really struck a chord with her!) Buy it for your kids and enjoy it as a mini vacation for yourself.

I am totally hooked on this game. Ive been playing video games since Pong, Odyssey and Atari 2600, so Id say I have some experience.
Pros:
The graphics are excellent (for a Wii). For instance, watch the water when you are interacting with a dolphin partner (training or giving a show), especially when s/he enters the water after a jump. Or watch the diving boat rise and fall with the waves, when its at the dock.
It is totally unbelievable how interesting this game is and how many features it has. There are hundreds of species of fish/birds/mammals to collect in my handbook. There are 200 salvage items to pick up + 100 coins I have to find.
I have to collect different styles of haircuts and pieces of clothing/diving gear. I have to collect pieces of maps until they are complete and interact with every different species of animal. I have to build a coral reef and train multiple dolphins different tricks. I have to take pictures and submit them to magazines for publishing. I have to design exhibits in an aquarium. I have to earn and be awarded 155 different titles. I can take visitors on diving tours and take orders to search for hidden treasure.
You can change your clothing and hairstyle, take a shower, nap in a hammock, build a bonfire and sit and watch the coastline. Not only that, but you can earn a jukebox and change the background music. (I read somewhere that you can load MP3s onto an SD card and play your own music, but I havent tried this yet.) Most of these options either help you to earn, or spend, money.
There are multiple story lines that can be taken in or out of order, which is a blessing, because some of the puzzles are a little difficult to figure out. So it would be nice to have some type of game guide made.
If you look at all of the awards you can earn, youll see that this game will take a very long time, if you wish to get every one. (I still have to earn 1 million dollars, which I then have to spend and then will have to earn 2 million more to earn another one of the titles. I only hope it means I have to earn a total of $2 mil, not have that much in the bank at once.
Cons:
After a while, it gets a little monotonous, however. Especially if you play more than a couple of hours a day. Plus, youll probably get tired of having to watch EVERY VISITOR arrive on a jet ski without being able to click past the scene.
The game does promote evolution in some of the comments, which I dont personally believe, so thats a little bit of a pain. Id consider that minor, though.
Plus, when you have to find and heal some animals, the game makes the cause those thoughtless humans. Granted, humans have polluted and continue to pollute the earth, for the most part, but humans are also the only creatures doing anything about it.
The game is a little unrealistic:
-You meet dolphins around the world (the Arctic, the Antarctic and the your site, to name a few) and just kidnap them back to your tropical paradise/base of operations. So this only supports the other side of the thoughtless human theme. As in, Oh, yeah. I befriended a dolphin. Let me take him home whether he wants me to or not. Not to mention whether he can thrive or even survive in water that is a different temperature from his normal habitat.
-Not to mention, all of the ladies/men that come to the island have perfect 10 bodies. I mean, seriously, where are the beer-bellies & baby-weight?!
-I wont even mention the unrealism of the Pulsar, as this has been mentioned in other reviews.
It seems almost impossible to get an A or B grade on the photo publishing. And you have to get 20 of these to win one of the awards. Really, some of the fish you can only zoom in so far, and they still say that you need to focus on the subject. Cmon!
Finally, this game can take over your life, if you let it. There are so many requests coming in (dolphin show requests, salvage requests, guided-tour requests and picture requests) that you cant do them all, but if you try, you spend all of your time doing that and not doing any diving.
Im sure Ive missed something. But I guess youll just have to get the game to find out what! :)

The game is basically an adventure game, with missions to fulfill and prizes (=honors) just for exploring all corners and making acquaintance with all to-be-cataloged species. The visuals and the music are great and they will entice anyone to actually try diving.
It is similar in structure to Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix, regarding the freedom it gives the player on choosing in which order to undertake the missions. Different, for instance, of Zelda - Twilight Princess which had a more linear structure.
I recommend this game specially for young people, up to 13 years, as it will sooth them and instill good values. (Teens on the range 14 to 18 will probably find the game too slow for their adrenalin-rushed pace.)
Thumbs up!

Who would have thought a game about diving would be this much fun?
Basically you are a diver who just got a job at L&L Diving Services, located at Nineball Island. You work for a retired diver, Jean-Eric and his teenage daughter Oceana. Lately Oceana has been interested in finding a mystery castle that is supposedly hidden under water. Her late father was also interested in finding this very treasure, so she sets off on a mission to find it, with you helping her along the way.
Most of the game consists of dive missions. What I really like is that this game can be an adventure, or it can be a chill-out game, or it can be both! You are at leisure to do what you wish; you take control. So if you find yourself intrigued by the above summarized adventure, then you can help Oceana find the ruins and the game will have more of a goal, where you are accomplishing certain tasks and advancing forward. This is a great option if you are a real adventure-gamer like I am! However if you are not much of a gamer and would rather skip the adventure, you are at liberty to do this, as well. If you would rather just dive and interact with the species under water, you can do that too and you will still be given small side quests as you proceed but they wont necessarily have anything to do with the main adventure. For example, sometimes the conservation groups in the area may ask you to check out some of the animals; you will be given an option to accept or decline, so its really up to you how you play the game.
Diving is a lot of fun! I really have never played a Wii game this unique before. Every time you dive you start out at the boat and you choose a location on the globe. More locations open up as you progress. Then you choose a divespot from your location and off you go! Each dive location (which is usually an ocean) has several different areas to explore. It plays as one continuous ocean but the game has given distinct locations names to help you differentiate on the map. As you dive you can interact with different species. I was so amazed at the sheer variety of marine life down there on my Wii!! There are hundreds of different fish, dolphins, whales, manatees, birds, seals, even sharks, sea slugs, rays...I could go on and on but my review would never end! The point is, there are tons of beautiful creatures to interact with. You can feed the animals, take pictures of them, and even help calm or heal them. Each individual animal can be focused on underwater and for those real enthusiasts of biology (like myself) you can even read a brief info about the species you are focused on. The game even includes real facts and scientific names! Very cool!
One thing that really impressed me for a game of this genre were the graphics. I honestly feel like I am actually diving underwater when I play this game. It is so serene, the music is very soothing and beautiful to hear in the background. The entire environment looks and plays like a real life ocean, and the animals behave, sound, and look very life-like. And thats not all; the cut scenes in this game are just as beautifully done as those of an rpg or full-on adventure title. I cannot gush enough about these graphics, since you wouldnt expect it on a game of this genre.
Some other things you can do only happen on land at Nineball Island. This is the company headquarters. You can develop photos here, view your titles and rewards, see things you have collected from the ocean, look at an encyclopedia of all the marine life you have encountered so far, change you clothes, or call an appraiser to appraise things you have found. You can also buy gear from her. You can also rest in the cabin in order to advance time. This is cool because then you can experience diving at different times of day, like at sunset or deep at night. Different animals come out at different times so definitely try this!
I think the adventure part of the game is very well done; it incorporates the rest of the games elements nicely and the fact that it is optional makes it appeal to more people, because not everybody is into adventures. Some people just wanna dive, and, hey, who can blame them when it is this fun? I would definitely recommend this game to all casual gamers and also to fans of adventure games. It is really a unqiue gaming experience unlike any other I have had. This game is a whole lotta fun and uber relaxing. It is also especially fun for any fans of animal science or biology. This is a must-have for your Wii library!
Trust me, once you play this, the ocean really will seem ENDLESS...endless fun!

This game is rather interesting. But I like speedier games. If you like Space Invaders, it may be a little slow in comparison. I enjoyed the idea of the game: looking at the fish, earing the sounds, but I dont care for the story or finding the pendant. I wish there was a game where we could just really learn about the fish and enjoy the Ocean. I noticed a lot of similiar groups of fish. This game is worth it on a big screen with the sound up. What would be cool is a scavenger hunt learn the fish and check them off as one goes. That would be neat.

This game is a ton of fun, even though it is simple in story line. I rented this game for 5 days and have already completed it, but thats fine beacause just diving is so much fun! there are some puzzles that require a LITTLE thought so that was a nice element.
pros: LOTS of realistic marine life like whales, sharks, dolphins, seals, etc. you can even befriend dolphins!
-the areas are beautiful to explore and very interesting
-good story line
-its educational and fun!
-great graphics
cons:
-you have limited air that runs out quickly so you can dive for less time
-dangerous animals can attack you
-you cant create your own character
overall, its very relaxing! highly reccomended!!!

Dont judge a book by its cover. This might be a sequel to a game many consider a virtual aquarium, but its got all the hallmarks of a great RPG. A mysterious storyline, intriguing characters, and quests as well as sidequests. Youll get over a hundred hours of enjoyment out of this game if you stick with it and try to do everything there is to do. A great game for anyone whos a fan of great games, dont judge it until you try it.

After completing the first game, I was looking forward to this game and pre-ordered it. After it arrived, I played it almost every day and yet I am still playing it as there is so much to do.
The main storyline is quite straightforward and easy to follow. Unlike the first games storyline, there were some tense moments in this game which just added to the fun. Some of these tense but memorable moments included being attacked by a giant pulsar immune shark for the first time and being trapped underwater while air is running out and everything is collapsing.
The bigger draw of this game occurs outside of the main storyline. Even after the main storyline is completed, the game continues with a new goal which takes awhile to complete (unless one is obsessive about it). In addition, there are many side quests such as Salvage quests, Treasure Hunts, and animal investigation. Of course, there is the usual request fulfillment (photos, guided tours, and salvage requests) and the usual search to fill up the marine encyclopedia/coin collection/salvaged items.
Even if the above is not enough, I know there are quests involving the dolphins as there is a massive checklist of titles that lists mini goals to complete and Im not even a quarter done with it.
And before I forget, something that I wanted in the first game that I finally found in this game was the ability to take photos of the wildlife and scenery. Instead of just saving it into the album like the first game, the photos can also be saved on a SD card for outside viewing/blogging!

I really didnt expect much from this game except having some fun swimming in the ocean. It turned out to be so much more than that. There were so many fun quests, treasure hunts and secret places to find. It just goes on and on with new twists and turns. I was addicted and my husband even poked fun at me. I would recommend this game to anyone who likes a more layed back game with lots of fun.
