This is a great product and it works as expected.
It is very sensitive and you should aim the sensor
to the right direction to avoid false detection.
I will buy more for different area outside my house.

The sensors have been out in the hot Arizona sun, cool nights (well, for Arizona, down to about 46), heavy rain, and still work great. It didnt take too much time to set them up and test them, either. These are definitely a low budget way to set up a security system so that youll know if anyone enters your yard but you get what you pay for but still not bad. If you take the time to adjust the placement of the sensor through some trial and error, this works great! I dont know if the people who complain about these got defective units or have a lot of coyotes or something setting them off, but I have several of these set up to form a perimeter around the house and they work great. We do have cats around here, a whole bunch of them, but the trick of putting the sensors up on poles or bush branches, and I havent had any false alarms since I finally got them set up.

Installed on the side of parents carport to cover their back door. With a little duct tape on the sensor I blocked out pet traffic zones and side to side motion areas. It works pretty well except for a real problem with sun/shade changes. Aimed at a brick wall it kept triggering until I figured out the change in heat on the wall from cloud movement was the problem. Had to place it so the sensor viewing area was in constant shade.

I hid the motion sensor under a copy of the newspaper on my driveway & when the thief picked up the paper the alarm sounded in my house & I flew out the door & busted her. Felt great!

Ok, only if you have two of them. Meaning that if you have a two car gargage lets say. The best way to place them is out of reach at each end facing a 45 degree angle or pointing dirctly to the center of your drive way so that it forms sorta like a X. Whats good or great about this is that you get a double alarm. Meaning that if you hear it go off once (beep x4) its probly your cat, if it goes off twice (beep x8) be syspecious, and look if your not doing anything by if you hear it go off 3 times (beep x12) its some one and get your bat because its really happing.

This alarm works well within the parameters of the manufacturer except the distance of transmission between the sensor and receiver. Placed within 30ft of one another they work just fine.

It is great and does a good job. The only thing is that I cant use it because my neighbor 2 houses down has one and his and mine goes off together. No matter if the motion is at my house or his all of them go off at the same time. Driving us crazy so had to take the batteries out of mine. Is there any way to lower the receiver distance?

this product is a good buy....i took some reviewers advice and shielded it a bit from the sun and rain ..and yes i get a few false alarms but not many.....sometimes even a shadow will set it off....tolorable in my book.....i made a rain cap for it...to protect it from rain......i use the low volume...[never tried the hi]
id give a 4.5 if there what a 1/2 star
i do turn it off...if im gonna be in the area myself going back and forth.....in front of it
yes i would recommend it...aside from the fact that the seller does NOT package it whatsoever
it comes naked......w/ a shipping label of course

Does an outstanding job of letting me know when someone or something has entered my property at night. Allows me to sleep better knowing that my property is being monitored at a substantially lower price than large home security firms.

So far this is working perfectly for me and its a good deal at this price. I am using it inside my garage as a dog doorbell--she can get into the garage from the yard but I dont want her scratching at the door to the house to get it. Because it is a loud nuisance I only turn it on when I put her out because others in the family are also in and out of the garage a lot, setting it off. It makes 3 loud ding-dongs every time it is set off. One would be enough for me. I have it set on low and dont even want to hear what high is like.
We will see how batteries hold up and how it works in very cold weather but for $10 Ill be happy if it only works in 3 seasons. I was wondering about an AC adapter too and wish it told you what kind to buy.
I think someone else mentioned that the bottom of the sensor case is not flat which is an inconvenience, especially if you want the sensor to be portable. It WILL stand up but its unstable. Seems weird to make it that way but oh well for $10 its not perfect. The alarm portion IS flat on the bottom so you can easily take it with you rather than permanently attach it somewhere if you want. For instance if I am working in the front yard while the dog is in the back yard, I can carry it out front with me and set it on a windowsill or the step so I can hear it.

I was looking for an inexpensive way to alert me when someone comes up our driveway. This was the solution! It has been up for a month and worked well. Although it does tell me when a squirrel is on the tree, it does its job well. I would suggest mounting where squirrels dont play.

We had a unique situation, moved into the 120 year old family farmhouse, which didnt have
a doorbell. This seemed the perfect solution to letting us know when anyone was around. Reciever has a very loud alert. Love it!!!

I purchased unit about a month ago and with some experimentation (tape over motion sensor) it works great with only an occasional squirrel setting it off. I painted it with rough type dark green paint and placed it in a hole in a tree about 3 ft from the ground so it is barely seen. Sound is great being pretty loud allowing us to hear it in our basement family room and upstairs. Additionally the dog barks too when she hears it. The unit is about 90 feet away from the house - havent tried it at a greater distance. Dont know about battery life yet but the receiver has a jack for external power adapter. No close neighbors so no interference problem for us.

I cant believe people complain about it being too sensitive. I would think theyd rather have it too sensitive than not sensitive enough. I, too, had to put tape on it. It does ring loud. Better than too soft. And of course birds and rabbits and stray cats are going to set it off. It cannot tell the difference between YOUR cat and the neighbors, or, for that matter, a prowler. Its just not that high tech. Duh. I am very happy with this product and its certainly worth the price for the security it provides. Some people will complain about anything.

Wow for the price this is awesome! My driveway is around 300 feet i wanted to put it at the end of the driveway but theres a garage in between the house and the end. I did try but it didnt work. So i moved it about 20 just beyond the garage in view of the house and it worked flawless. We had a massive rain today and not one false alarm. I didnt have any size C batteries so i took AA batteries and put them in the receiver u have to position them in between the spring and plate they are the same voltage just wont last as long. There is a high, low, and off, volume switch the low is perfect for inside and the high will make you blink if your within 20 feet it is very loud! if it is outside you would be able to easily hear it from 300 feet away. The tone reminds me of an old school doorbell high chime followed by a low chime Theres also a few red lights on the receiver that light up when the sensor is tripped. for being a battery operated motion sensor it is unlike others because it picks up a person walking 20 away it seems to pick up everything level and above the sensor. at first it picked up my dog so i raised it to around 4 feet off the ground and now it wont pick him up witch means now it also wont pick up leaves blowing by or grass when the wind blows I have to say within the past year this is the best 15$ iv spent!

I bought this item because of all the positive feedback for it.
The cons: My main complaint is that the sensor itself is the biggest motion sensor I have EVER seen, its about 4 tall and 2.5 wide. It has a small red light on it that lights when the sensor is tripped, which the person tripping it might see. I put a piece of duct tape over it, which solved the problem.
The pros: Mainly that it works really well. There has never been a time so far that it hasnt gone off when someone parked in my driveway. The price is excellent too.
Good product overall.
PS-another reviewer suggested putting it in a birdhouse. Going to try it.

Worked beautifully for monitoring the front door of my store. Its simply the most affordable, easiest, and most effective way of monitoring an area whether big or small.

They are easy to install, easy to operate. Battery life has been good. Dependable and inexpensive. Try not to mount the sensor tightly to anything, this seemed to cause alot of false alarms. Also, sunlight hitting a moving tree branch tends to activate the alarm, so trim away any moving limbs or branches and I think you will be satisfied with this product. I have owned one of these for a couple years and it does nothing like the description says. As far as the previous review about going through a window...NO MOTION SENSOR WILL WORK THROUGH GLASS. Dont blame the product for your ignorance. The item works very well for me. I have a large yard with a detached garage and this inexpensive device lets me know when anyone is coming near my home. Mailman, newspaper guy, whoever. It will pick up animals, but with the right mounting height and electrical tape the sensor works as desired. Sensor takes (1)9V while receiver takes three)C batteries. The only option is the volume of the chime on the receiver. It will continually chime when something enters the sensor area.
