I bought these for gifts for a 5 year old and a 9 year old.
The 5 year has been asking for this since the 1st time he saw the commercial. He LOVES it. He and his dad have watched the DVD and he is learning the tricks slowly - but he is learning them. The nine year old has not received his yet - but has played with the 5 year olds:)
They are both boys and it has been very clear when they ask me for a gift they will receive it. So thank you for making them happy. I think this toy teaches them concentration and teaches hand - eye coordination, as well as patience.

For the twits who gave this a bad review, if you have any idea what contact juggling is, this is a great purchase. Maybe research before you buy? Duuur -_-

Im a beginner to contact juggling, but this is totally durable. Since Im an amateur, I drop this ball a lot and it endures a LOT of damage. I found out that most paint stains (If you hit it against your wall for some reason) can be smudged out with lighter fluid (just dont let a zippo near though!). I highly recommend this to amateurs and pros alike.

My 7yr old son saw the TV advertised brother of this acrylic ball and was dissapointed that it didnt actually defy gravity in any measurable way. I, on the other hand, was surprised that with some practice and patience, it is possible to create some of the interesting effects of the contact jugglers. So, as long as you dont expect to get an actual aberration of physics, this is an fun ball that was worth the price.

so far it seems pretty good. im just getting started so learning is slow. my only complaint about the ball is that there is a 2 mm surface crack but that was probably just a fluke anyways you cant see it when its moving

These are absolutely great. I have a 17yr old and a ten year old who wanted to try to learn contact juggling. Although it takes time, patience, and practice (like most things), my boys are having fun and progressing along just fine. I was concerned that the acrylic might look awful after being dropped on the floor a few times, but that is not the case. They have thudded and rolled across a hard porcelain floor more times than I can count, but they are holding up great! My only other bit of information would be to evaluate the size of your palm and order the ball size accordingly (many times your hand needs to be able to hold three balls). I was very thankful that I chose two very different sizes due to my sons needs. If youre not sure what the size would be, you might try holding and measuring some rubber balls at the toy department of the local store to give you an idea.
