for the money you are paying for the eq.. you cant really complain unless you recieve it broken. this eq has been great for me and all my friends that owns it.. i had this for more than a year now and i have no problems at all.. great mids/highs and bass signals.. i use it almost every day, and no complaints. for the price, you just cant go wrong

A great way to improve the overall quality of sound with the ability to tweak individual frequencies. Enhances highs and lows beyond the presets on todays stereos. The best way to improve sound quality for a minimal investment. It is very easy to install with the added feature of an auxiliary input for easy switching to an iPod or other audio source.
The dials are soft lit in blue (a feature not in the original description). An excellent buy.

Yes, my head unit has a 7 band EQ, fader, and subwoofer output level. But you have to go into menus and push many buttons to get to all that. You cant do that while youre driving-at least you shouldnt. This little Clarion has all the controls at your fingertips. Once you memorize the knobs, you wont have to look down at it to adjust something. The master volume boosts the signal level, so it can be used for line driver duty also. Its nice to turn the subs down when the cops are near or when listening to a ball game on AM radio. And turn them up when I want some crazy bass. With the subwoofer level control, I dont need to have an amp that has the remote bass knob(that means I can upgrade to the Alpine MRP-M500!!). Even though I wish the EQ had more than 7 bands, it still gives you lots of control over how your speakers sound. The rotary knobs are sweet. Have you ever tried to tweak a slide control while going down a bumpy road? It just doesnt work out too well. The Aux input allows me to listen to my MP3 player. The blue lights look cool at night-see my photo I posted. All this for a great price. What a winner Clarion!

I just installed this. It is freaking amazing. I had installed Infinity speakers, Pioneer amp and JVC KD-DV6200 Car DVD Player in my car. The sound was powerful enough, thanks to Pioneer 1000W amp but the quality of JVC was just OK and never satisfied me. I went to change the JVC for another brand and the guy in Illusion auto accessories in Queens BLVD in New York gave me the idea of installing this Clarion equalizer. It is amazing. Finally the sound that I like as clear as I want, all the buttons with nice blue glow and accessible to adjust rather than stupid menu equalizer of the receiver. Just loving it. It is a great device and you can not have a perfect sound without it, no matter how many other great equipments you have. Just buy it and surprise yourself.

this slick thin equalizer is the best i ever purchased,Im a master audio hifi car and home installer.Ive been doing this for more than thirty years.when I saw the clarion for $50 bucks,I not only looked at the spec, but how a small component like this along with the crossover feature could cost so little,I decided to give it a try.Im running two 1200watts subs, two hifi mini tweeters, two submidrange double port front harmonic horns in a ceramic enclosed sub box,and also a single 1200watts subwoofer on one rear 1000watt two channel amp and one 1200watts front amp all in total of eleven speakers.the head unit is a boss also purchase from your site, with cd/dvd.touch screen, bluetooth.Let me tell you that when I finish the installation,I stood amazed at the crisp solid sound it produced. It took me five minute to adjust the equalizer.I put in a rock concert dvd and you would think that you were at a live rock concert with pro sound management.the eq looks great with the blue back lit that matches the head unit.I highly recommend this component and dare to challenge anyone to outperform the sounds quality.thanks your site for such a great price for this component. Also thanks to clarion for this great product.Boss BV9995B 7-Inch In-Dash Motorized Widescreen Touchscreen TFT Monitor/DVD/MP3/CD Combo Receiver with Built-in BluetoothClarion EQS746 1/2 DIN Graphic Equalizer with Built-in Crossover

I am using two of these eqs in my setup one for my front mb quart premium components and one for my rear set of mb quart premium components. This way I have total control to add a little more mid bass in the rear and more highs in the front.. Sound quality is very good also using a clarion vz409 in dash touchscreen.... I do not recomend using it with yours subs as it will boost the in line voltage and make them louder but the frequencys just wont sound right if you are an audiophile...also the reason I am using two of them is to get proper front rear seperation and not a quadraphonic effect because ithas only on RCA input (for the front) and it splits that signal into three outputs ( front..rear..sub) hopemy review helps... I would deffinetly recomend this eq if done in a proper set up and tuned right.

This is ONE of the BEST products Ive ever purchased online. I love it!!!! I spent so much $$$ on buying different amps to push my one 15 Lanzar Opti sub, but with this EQ I could have stayed with the worst amp in the world and it would have come out sounding hella good.

For the little amount that this EQ costs, the features it has are priceless. The EQ is very good quality, it has everything you need to make your system sound great.
I installed mine into the dash below my head unit. I love the Aux switch it has, as I can switch from my head unit to my ipod with the click of a button. As a wonderfully clean and crisp sound to my system. Love the fact that it has independant bass and volume control so I can control how loud my woofers are.
The blue lights are nice, sometimes a little bright. Knobs are very solid and perform well. Would buy again and put into almost any car audio situation. I believe it is one of the best that your site sells for such a reasonable price. If you buy it, you wont be sorry. Its a great product and will last.
Ive had mine now for almost a year and it is still in excellent condition. Has been working great!

Added this to my boat sound system trying to increase clarity and volume to my tower speakers and sub. All I can say is wow and this thing is worth every cent. Made a dramatic difference in clarity. Probably due to the increase in volt increase it sends out to the amp. The additional control to the sub made mine more controlable and a huge increase in punch. Oh...and it was a breeze to install. I highly reccomend this product!

i bought this thinking it would boost my voltage and i would be able to tune in everything..but i didnt think it through very well being that all i have is a kicker xs 50 amp on 2 12 in l7 subs my mids and highs still are running off my head unit so there for i can only use 2 of the 7 controls.the sub control is cool and the 50 hz and 125hz is all u can use till other amps are hooked up.so be sure its what u need...

This product completes perfect the chain of sound of my car. I used perfect with a BOSS Bass1200 subwoofer amplifier and other 600 watts amplifier for the doors buffles. You can control perfect the volumes of each amplifier from the equalizer and the filters for each frecuency funtion perfect. It is a little dificult to see and move the frecuencies because you dont have a graphic display or leds but for me it is more important the quality of the sound.
The blue lights are pretty.
I am happy with the sound I get to my car.

I had a heck of a time installing this in my toyota pickup, but its in and it works. Yes, the LED illumination is blue, but I wish it was green to match the rest of my dash lights. it has low current draw, which is good for the battery and charging system--it comes with a 1A fuse and the remote takes very little power, I was able to split the remote output from my stock headunit to switch this on as well as the rear amplifier. I used a Griffin Autopilot to bring sound in from my ipod to the aux input of the EQ, and I had to eliminate a lot of interference when the two were too close together (I used a longer audio patch cable to separate them; they are still right next to each other deep in the dash, just more wire + a RF choke between them).
The manual to the EQ says their volume pot is better than any headunits, but that is baloney--it doesnt feel very sturdy to the touch and twisting it introduces a moment of static (this might have stopped after the first few turns, I just put it in yesterday). Pushing the AUX input selector button also introduces a loud POP through my speakers, I dont know if that is my installation or the button, but I think it is the button. I turn the volume down before switching inputs. To be fair I hear a similar pop when shutting the entire system down, so it could be that switching inputs creates a split second with zero output (I-0-I, for example). This is probably better than a split second with both inputs overlapping.
Overall sound quality is very good; it is true that I hear zero noise from the EQ itself. There is no max input level so I was able to use speaker level inputs from my headunit without a line-level converter, which I was afraid would introduce too much noise as sound was pushed through the EQ and an old pioneer amp--not so.
The EQ controls work as advertised I guess, I dont know much about sound since it is my first EQ ever. I say it works because it sounds good, and I approve. Being 1/2 DIN EQ I had to find the right way to fill the other 1/2, so I bought a Metra one that seems like the right compliment.
Im pretty happy with the unit and the finished look, I hope it lasts for years and years.

This Clarion EQ was definately a good buy for only 53 bucks shipped brand new. It does a pretty good job at letting the user fine tune their music according to their preferrences. Fitment was the only issue I encountered with this product since it was installed in an 04 Nissan Maxima. I had to modify the factory bracket to fit and flush this product so that it would not stick too far out or in. Otherwise it was a great buy and a good quality product if budget is an issue

Output Impedance: 50K Ohms
Stereo Separation: 82 dB @ 1 kHz
Dimensions: 7 W x 1 H x 4 D
----------------------------------------------
The Clarion EQS746 is more than just an equalizer. First thing, the sound quality of this equalizer is hard to find even in professional studio grade equipment, with Signal-To-Noise Ratio (S/N) of 105 dB, a Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of 0.005 % and Frequency Response from 10 Hz - 50,000 Hz, this equalizer is definitely for people who want to hear music as was recorded, no noise, no distortion, wide dynamic range means high quality sound without compromise.
To make things even better the Clarion EQS746 inputs/outputs are all gold-plated, so you get no corrosion and better signal transfer.
The Clarion EQS746 also acts as a Low-Pass Crossover with selectable frequency of 60 Hz or 90 Hz (12 dB/octave Crossover Slope), add to that a separate subwoofer volume level control at your finger tips and a stereo sub-out --which makes perfect sense-- youre in control of the bass!
The Clarion EQS746 has 6 RCA outputs, two for stereo subwoofer and 4 for two pair of stereo speakers (front/rear) you can operate the device with only front or rear, or with both connected. Moreover your get a fader control to adjust the sound level between the front and rear speakers.
The main volume control is another story, because this is not just an equalizer as I said before it also acts as a pre-amp (AKA line-driver) with a Maximum Output Level of 7V RMS!
One last thing about this beautiful device is the AUX input with an easy to use push-push AUX button near the volume control. It means that you can select between two audio sources with just one click. Like you can connect your head unit as the primary source of sound and connect another --lets say portable audio player-- to the AUX input, and then select what audio source you want to listen to without having to plug/pull cables while on the road, how easy can that be! Oh did I mention that you can control the AUX input level per channel. I think you now get the picture why I chose this device and why I love it so much.
Whats next? I think Clarion can add more than 7 EQ bands, lets say 15 so you can have more control over the sound shape.
The Low-Pass Crossover could have had more frequencies to select instead of two, 60 Hz is not deep bass enough for some people who like to tune at less than 40 Hz but anyway thats not a big deal because your subwoofer amplifier will take care of this.
I highly recommend this product.
