I have had this watch for a couple of weeks now so I feel I can fairly review it. First thing, yes the band sucks. It does pull out your hair when you first start to where it but now Im used to it so it really does not bother me that much anymore. I wear this watch everyday and have not managed to scratch the face yet even though there have been some times I thought I should have. The watch looks great. I just like the look of the watch. The temperature seems to be within a +/- of 5 degrees which isnt too bad. If youre buying for temperature readings though get yourself a thermometer cause this thing isnt that accurate. All in all a great looking watch for the price and seems to be sturdy. One last minor complaint I have is that the watch backlight turns off to quickly and the hands on mine at least dont seem to glow in the dark for very long.

Got the watch today and here has been my overall impression of the watch:
Pros: Attractive looking watch good for everyday use, as long as you dont touch it, it looks expensive. I was easily able to size the band with a small flathead screwdriver and a small jewelers hammer.
Cons: Like the other reviewers I find the display to be darker than expected and difficult to read without the backlight. The crystal seems to have and odd, white haze to it but only at certain angles which makes looking at the display even more difficult. Direct overhead halogen lights bring the white haze out and makes the face difficult to read. The band is feels like it should for a $50 watch, you get what you pay for. I compare the band to what is on my Citizen Skyhawk and its painfully obvious which is the $300 watch and which is the $50 watch.
Overall: Attractive watch, good for daily bang around use. I am still concerned about the white haze on the crystal and thinking of returning for that reason.

I love this watch. The digital analog clock setting is a little slow but nice. The only problem is that the temperature reading is influenced by body heat so its off unless ambient temp is higher, you can adjust for difference though.

This Casio Edifice is a perfect watch to wear for casual occasions.
I have had it over a month now, and for the cheap price, it appears to be very accurate with the official Government website time ([...])...less than 2 seconds lost in 1 month.
I like the dual digital analog time. It also shows the day and date, a must for me. Some reviewers say the digital numbers are hard to read because they are dim. They are both correct and incorrect! Yes, if you are in dim lighting it may be hard to see the digital numbers, and it does require you to have the viewing watch angle tilted a little in order to see the digital numbers, but this is a plus. Unlike other dual time watches that I have had in the past, the background clutter can tend to make it hard to see the analog hands when glancing at the watch. The background digital numbers on this watch tend to blend away unless you are looking directly at the watch. This helps to reduce the background clutter on the watch face. Tilting the watch a little so that you can see the digital numbers should be a very minor inconvenience.
The band is easy to adjust as long as you know that it doesnt use the round pin type link removal. There are websites that you can go to that will show you how to remove links, if you are not familiar with this type of link removal.
The band will not allow your watch to lay flat like most metal watch bands, again a minor annoyance.
The only curios feature, is that when you set your analog hands, it will only go in one direction...clockwise. Somewhat odd?
It has a temperature readout, but I doubt anyone should really expect this to be very accurate. Even if you set it to account for your body temperature, dont expect miracles.
As your activity goes up or down, so too, will your body temperature. This should make it nearly impossible for the watch to really report accurate air temperatures. At best it will give you a general approximations. Kind of a useless feature. I have read other reviewers that were upset that it wasnt giving them the correct temperatures. If this is the reason why you bought the watch then you need to see a shrink. Its watch!
Stop focusing on the minutia and enjoy the classy looks and excellent timing of this inexpensive watch.

This was the right balance for me. Mixture of classic, casual and tech style.
Most of the reviews from other people in this site are true, positive and negative ones. Its just about who is sensitive to what.
I really find this watch very nice looking and easy to use.
I was afraid of huge oversized Casio watches, but this one ended being quite small, so if you tend buying it maybe the good idea would be checking first in the store a real version.

I really like this watch. Ive had several Casio watches and this one is the best looking. The only thing I dont like is that is kind of hard to see the digital numbers, but you can always press the light button. I recommend this watch anyways.

Affordable watch, it is analog-digital, easy to setup, looks good, backlight (which is one of the main reasons I needed), I like it a lot.
I bought this for xmas since I needed an analog-digital watch with illumination, this looked good, price was within range.
Works as advertised, my only complain, and this is why I gave it 4 stars, is the light, when you press the button, light will remain on for 1.5 seconds, it doesnt matter if you keep the button pressed, I thought I could change that in any part of the settings but no, nothing to do, and I didnt expect that since most of the Casio watches keep illumination on as long as you keep the button pressed.
Some reviewers complained about visibility of the digital clock and date, well, its good enough for me, and Im the guy with 14 diopters in his eyeglasses, not visible a 100%, but you get the point, temperature is hard to read though.
If backlight wouldve stayed on for 3-4 seconds, I wouldve rated it 5 stars.

The watch Looks grate and I love it.
The only downside is the band pulls at/out your wrist hairs for first 2-3 weeks and the digital Clock is not very easy to read.
I love the watch with lots of cool thing and Option that you can not get on many watches.

I bought two units of this watch, one for myself the other as gift for a friend.
Until now other than the relative difficulty to configure it, it does the job very well.
I am using it a second watch, it has a nice sporty look.
Very satisified.

The watch looks nice and unlike some I got an accurate temp reading. The digital information is too little and the light is too late. The size of the info is small and not clear for old eyes. The lighted version of the display is only on for a very short time making viewing difficult. Some (with young vision) should love this watch, however be cautious if you have difficulty reading small displays.

My Ideal Specs for a watch
Metal Band, waterproof, analog/digital faces, decent scratchproof Case, fits my fairly large hand
good:
---extremely stylish/formal (but somewhat impractical, see first reason in the bad section)
---multiple functions: thermometer, single/dual stopwatch, memory for lap time in stopwatch, alarm/countdown/world time
--- temperature measure pretty accurate, to get room temp you have to take the watch out of your hand and put it on the table, leaving it alone for 20 minutes
--- could set the watch to auto-light up when you tilt the watch to your face(pretty decent tilt-response, but light sucks, see first reason in Bad section)
bleh:
---the actual watch came in a small blue casio cardboard box, unsealed, with a stand and small manual(i uploaded pics to the pics section)
--- no second hand for analog watch... but its already pretty cluttered, and the hands sometimes block the digital display
--- the analog hand isnt synched to the digital time, so you have to update both analog and digital manually if the time drifts. could be good if you want two times on your watch eg overseas (info: the analog minute hand ticks every 20s, so there are 3*60 minute = 180 places where the minute hand can point)
bad:
--- impractical: the digital part of the watch has low viewing angle, the fluorescent light when lit doesnt change that much contrast, it looks stylish because its all black, but it is hard to see the digital time it low light conditions.... I guess if Casio ups the contrast on the digital part, it wont look as stylish
--- band: if you have hairy hands, this isnt for you unless you want a bald spot on your hand... I have non-hairy hands, but after using this for a day, the band caught the small hairs on my hands once.
------could see some light scratches on the metal band after a day of use
band: metal, total around 22cm in circumference, can remove up to 8 links... each link is around 1cm, search for Leaf Spring Coupled Type to see how to resize the band (its not difficult, I did it with a paper clip)
warranty: 1 yr warranty, manual states 2-3 years battery runtime, 100 meter water resistance
why not 5 stars: band might remove hair, bad digital contrast
why not 3 stars: cheap, stylish, good enough for me as an everyday watch

I have had this watch now for over two months. Its a great, classy looking watch good for both informal and formal use.
It has features that Ill never use -- such as a stopwatch memory function that allows you to keep records permanently and still use the stopwatch. Has nice dual time function. You could travel the world with this and always have a digital time available.
As other reviewers have said, the temperature is a bit complicated. If you dont calibrate it for the temperature of your wrist it will not be correct.
I had a Casio in the 80s that had a temperature readout but the setting was arbitrary and it was never right even when adjusted for your wrist. THIS watch allows you to offset it more precisely, and it may not be 100% right but it is very close.
I would highly recommend this if youre looking for a solid formal looking functional watch.

This watch is a perfect combination of Digital and Analog mode. The black dial looks elegant. The thermometer is the unique feature which only this watch offers. I like the digital seconds. It has got many many features like dual time, dual alarms, backlight. The your site price was too good.
Cons: The belt adjustment is not mentioned anywhere. You just have to push the dot outwards and the link comes out. It does pull hair.
your site package was not sealed so not sure if it is original. The box quality was too cheap. Otherwise this item is 5 star item.

I enjoy wearing this watch. It looks way more expensive than $50. Its hard to find a watch that shows both the date and *day*; this one does, plus it displays the month! The other features like the thermometer, alarm, countdown timer, stopwatch, and world times are a cherry on top. The reason I give it 4 stars is the design - as handsome as it is - takes priority over function. The function that suffers is the readability of the digital information. First, it is non-contrasting dark LCD on a dark background. Second, the hands can obscure it. But overall, it still looks cool.

A very technical watch that is excellent for engineers. Attractive, rugged, and feature loaded but not for those who dont want to read the users manual because it is not intuitive in its operation. Design is like a high powered race car and not for the faint hearted.

Me parece un excelente reloj, buena apariencia, muy buena funciones.
no le doy las 5 estrellas por dos cosas:
1. las agujas hacen dificil la lectura digital
2. el tiempo de iluminacion es muy corto
por todo lo demas es excelente

I bought this watch based on the reviews. I just recieved it today and realized that this is a truly great looking watch. The down side and the reason why I am sending it back is because of the crappy band. The band feels and sounds cheap. In my opinion a metal watch band shouldnt squeak. This watch would have been a keeper if it werent for the band.
