PC Game Battlefield Bad Company 2
Description:
Get ready for the most spectacular FPS multiplayer experience ever! Battlefield Bad Company 2 brings the spectacular Battlefield gameplay to the forefront of next-gen consoles and PC - featuring best-in-class vehicular combat set across 8 huge sandbox maps each with a different tactical focus.
Battlefield Bad Company 2 is a first-person shooter, and sequel to Electronic Arts' 2008 release, Battlefield Bad Company. Following the continuing combat adventures of misfits of the US Army's Company "B," Bad Company 2 features the characteristic humor and grit of the Bad Company series, as well as a variety of gameplay improvements and additions, including 2-24 player online support; all-new four man squad gameplay; and more.

Story and Gameplay
Like the original Battlefield: Bad Company game, Bad Company 2 is a first-person shooter following the exploits of Company "B" of the US Army's 222nd Battalion. In this new adventure, the more mature yet still infamous company of misfits are tasked with interceding in a series of conflicts that have the potential to ignite of a new World War. Game environments cover snowy mountains, all the way to jungles and deserts.
As the action begins players have their pick of four distinct character classes, and weapons, gadgets and specializations. Within these, players have over 15,000 kit variations to discover, and will be able to fine-tune their preferred fighting style to give them the edge in combat that they will need to survive and prevail. In addition, new vehicles like the all terrain vehicle (ATV) and the UH-60 transport helicopter allow for new tactics, which players are free to choose from. As players fight through mission play they will level up their playable character through the ranks as they accumulate experience points in combat for enemies eliminated and objectives completed.
Excellence in the battlefield is rewarded with an extensive range of pins, insignias and stars to unlock along with 50 dedicated ranks to achieve. Battlefield 2 also features a major multiplayer component. Along with standard 24-player online multiplayer options across eight maps, players can also compete in 4-player teams in 2 exclusive squad-only game modes, fighting together to unlock exclusive team awards and achievements. During these online battles players can spawn on your squad to get straight into the action, and use gadgets such as the tracer dart in-conjunction with the RPG to devastating effect. Taken together these features make for one of the most realistic ground/vehicle combat experiences ever.
The New Frostbite Engine
Tactical destruction in Bad Company 2 is taken to new heights with the updated DICE 'Frostbite' engine. Unlike in the first game in the series, which featured considerable, but limited destructible game environments, in Battlefield Bad Company 2 players can now take down entire buildings or create their own vantage points by blasting holes through cover, thereby delivering a unique dynamic experience in every match.

Although I know I bought a used disc, but I found the CD Key could not be used for online play (already used by previous owner)
Niagras Electronics was nice enough to refund my purchase price. Im impressed with their service.
The game is great, at least as much of the single player I got into. Similar feel to CoD:MW, better graphics in cut scenes (and there are a lot of cut scenes!)

I have had this game for the PC for over 7 months now and I must say I really enjoy it. I havent had really any major technical problems running the game, but I do have a Dell XPS 630 gaming computer. It includes an Intel quad core processor, Windows 7, 8 gigs of RAM, and two ATI Radeon 4550 series GPUs in a crossfire set-up. I have the graphical settings turned up to the highest setting. The only issue of note is that I have decided not to update my Catalyst Control Center to the latest drivers since anything past 10.5 causes the game to shutter and lag while playing in multiplayer mode. From what I have read ATI uses a one size fits all CCC driver for all their GPUs and that may be part of the problem.
I wouldnt recommend this game if your computer doesnt meet the minimum specs. A friend of my tried to run it on a Pentium D with specs ust below the minimum requirements and he experienced all kinds of problems. His display would shutter and he would experience tramendous lag while playing the multiplayer mode. He didnt find the game enjoyable and doesnt plan on playing it until he upgrades to a newer PC. I also tried to run this on my wifes Dell studio laptop, while traveling, and I pretty much experienced the same game shutter and lag that my friend experience. In fact, it may be best to play it on a gaming pc for best results.
I have played several different FPS in the past, mainly from the Battlefield Series, but I found this game especially enjoyable due to the destructable buildings/environment. I recently played the Mental of Honor multiplayer test beta earlier this month and was disappointment they are not using destructable buildings.
I enjoy all the different game modes found in the online play. BC2 has the standard kit/class set-up found in most other Battlefield titles. My personal favorite is engineer (anti-tank), but lately I have been playing the other kits in the game. This Winter there is suppose to be a Vietnam expansion coming out that will add new multiplayer maps set in that war. From what I have seen the expansion looks pretty good and it should add to the fun of the game.
My only complaint with BC2 is that you cant go prone while playing. You only have the ability to crouch down. But I have to admit I have pretty much gotten use to it. Also, I miss the large maps that I enjoyed while playing BF2 or BF2142, but that is really a minor complaint.
If you want to give BC2 a try I hope to see you on the battlefield!

A great game to max out your card with. Looks great on consoles(the worst being PS3), but on PC wow, it just looks incredible. This game is about as close to Crysis as you will get, that you can max out with a mid range card. Not as fun as the original, but still makes the cut for graphics. Graphical Order

After becoming burnt out on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and watching a friend play Bad Company 2, I decided to pick up a copy. This is only my second Battlefield title (the old one was many years back), and I have to say Im impressed. It seems most recent first-person shooters have a variety of maps, cool guns, and lots of upgrades: Bad Company 2 is no different. However, Bad Company 2 pulls ahead of the competition when it comes to audio, environments, and teamwork - three categories that I have been especially impressed with.
The audio of this game is very realistic and the dialog is excellent (humorous and relevant). Theres nothing like having your ears ringing after taking heavy fire and trying to get to cover or suppress targets as your field of view closes inwards.
As far as environments go, destructability seems like an essential property of a first-person shooter environment after playing Bad Company 2. No longer can you hide forever behind cover and be safe. A 40mm grenade, mortar strike, tank fire, etc. are all capable of cutting through most cover and revealing enemy locations. While cover does still provide some protection, it is not impenetrable, which is a welcomed feature of the game.
One thing Ive grown tired of when it comes to first-person shooters is the lack of teamwork. Sure they usually have team modes, but the teams are nothing more than two score tallies. Bad Company 2 gets it right with small squads who can be much more powerful when the members work together. Spotting enemies is an essential aspect of the game, as well as having a well rounded team. Snipers can take out long-range targets and call in mortar strikes, engineers can repair friendly vehicles and while attacking enemies, medics can revive and heal the wounded, and the assault class can resupply ammo while laying out some heavy fire. Together squads are a powerful force to be reckoned with.
Overall, Im very happy with this game. Oh and did I mention dedicated servers?

actually I lost count lots of bfs this is at least as good as any other 2 also has a decent console style single player if you lack the skill or patience to play online.
yes there are a few cheaters and lots of elitists but so much fun esp if you get them.
servers are pretty fast much better than cssource also much more versatile expt map addons.
there are some glaring technical problems that EA Dice or whoever needs to fix including a very disturbing black screen effect.
also I had no luck with a hard copy but got on steam and works fine also play with regular users.
all in all if you liked to buy it and get ready to learn some new tricks, oh yeah and there are some very big realism problems so be ready. two words shotgun sniper

I got the pre-order package. downloaded it off of their website. Its quite a fun game, but has its limitations. Dont be fooled by their claims of 100% destructible environment. environment is 75% (at best) on most maps. there are many buildings on many different maps which cannot be taken down (a HUGE downfall of the game) and to make the situation worse they havent put out any truely new maps out since release. (only re-hashes of the same old maps in different modes) despite this its a LOT of Fun to get on there and kick some @$$. Besides the two downfalls of the game (some buildings/environment are indestructable and there are no new maps) it is still unparalleled, take down (some) buildings on your opponents, ripe through the noobs with heavy machine guns, assault rifles, grenade launchers, rocket launchers, sniper rifles and submachine guns. heal your squadmates, and own the other side with ingenuity and sneakiness or take them head on in a vehicle or with your super 1337 twitch firing skillz.

Some of the pros:
This game is really fun with the vehicles, and guns and leveling up. Its kind of a tactical game, and is best played with squad members. It can be quite realistic, such as bullet drop over distances (its not too dramatic). At least the guns are accurate when you shoot them at someone.
Some of the cons:
There is no proning in the game, only crouching and running. Also, a kind of annoying thing is your head bobs a lot when moving.
Conclusion: I believe this game is very much fun for many, many hours on end. Its definitely worth the money.

I bought this game a while ago in great uncertainty because after playing Modern Warfare 2 and it near perfect graphics I thought not much could compete. Well lets be clear as far as Graphics go ie. texture, realism of the guns, vastness of the world your fighting in and just plain realism from a photo point of view modern warfare to takes the cake and eats it to.
BUT Battlefield has a secret weapon. It does everything else! Meaning it breaks away from the restricting world that the games of main stream putts us in. Bullets and explosions do damage! You fire a rocket at a house you blow a major whole in it dealing lots of damage inside. Fire a few more and the house comes down. Shoot a wall with enough rounds of plain old 9mm rounds at it will crumble before your eyes. You are not safe anywhere because any cover can be destroid!
The only reason I cant give this 5 stars is that it take way to many bullets to kill someone. How ever it is not that bad and the game is more then play able.
I recommended this for people who want to play a relistic game that keeps you coming back for more.

If you are a fan of multiplayer FPS in the vein of Call of Duty, then I cant recommend this game enough. This multiplayer is simply on its own level, with excellent integration of vehicles (tanks, helicopters, Jeeps etc) and a scoring system that rewards good squad-based play. I cant comment on the single player campaign, but if youre on the hunt for an excellent multiplayer experience, look no further

Great addicting game. Lots of action and pretty much everything is destroyable is awesome. Really takes a toll on my machine though. Run all setting on medium and haft a lower my resolution. Got a 6400+ AMD 6Gb of RAM 2-640MB 8800GTS Sli. I think it looks better with anti aliasing maxed along with Anisotropic filtering and lowered resolution but other find high resolution and AA and Anisotropic filtering off appears better but thats just me. Dont get discouraged after playing the game a little bit and having no kick butt affect. It takes a while for your player to rank up and once you get the hang of it and get better weapons and upgrades it turns into a blast. Stick with it and youll get your moneys worth. I almost gave up but glad I didnt. Im now at rank 31 and kicking some serious arsenal. Good luck. Also theres sometime lots of lag on some servers and others are fine. You gotta deal with that but that too you get accustomed. In the end Im very glad I bought it. Peace

If you buy only one game for your computer and you have Internet Access, then this should be the game.
1) Realistic and beautiful environments that dont seem like computer animation.
2) Realistic combat action.
3) You can affect the environment itself with your weapons including destroying some buildings.
4) You can use tanks, helicopters, and boats.
Only issue I have is that some of the helicopters seem to be very hard to fly.

I used to live on Battlefield 2, but drifted away from gaming after a while. Upon building a new machine, I decided to pick this up.
Likes:
Graphics are pretty good, and runs very well on my AMD x3 system with a GFX460 video card (1gb), and 4gb of ram (with w7).
Single player story is really well done and draws you in - and the opening is freaking amazing.
Very atmospheric gameplay, especially with destructible environments.
Great selection of weapons in single player, as well as multiplayer with unlocks.
The extra unlocks besides weapons are a great addition. Scopes, sights, explosives, and more.
Enemy AI in singleplayer is fairly good, even on lower difficulties, which still make for a fun challenge.
Dialog in singleplayer is sometimes quite hilarious.
Knifing someone has gotten a lot easier now that its bound to a separate key; no having to switch weapons just to knife someone.
Dislikes:
Cutscenes sometimes have you clipping into boxes or barrels, which detracts from the atmosphere in singleplayer.
Some stuff (quietly knife this guy, look out for this truck) will require a couple of attempts because they rely on chance in singleplayer. Luckily, its right before an auto save point on all accounts, so no biggy.
No bots for offline multiplayer. I was spoiled be BF2, and would like to practice offline before I hop in and try my hand online (Nobody in my social circle has a high-end enough PC for this game).
With all the variety in weapons, I still found myself sticking to the same 2 for the most part (unless forced to use otherwise).
Singleplayer game is short.

I am fairly new to fps games it all started when I set out to build a custom pc then with windows rating system damn that rating! Any how updated my onboard video to a below average video card then purchased cod world at war thats when it all started. Now with an above average video card HIS hd4670 I purchased BATTLEFIELD BAD CO 2 and a new fan was made. Single player ok but multiplayer is awesome sure you start off as a target spending most your time waiting to respawn generally about 12 seconds but once you start ranking up thats when the fun starts all the player options from medic, recon, assault or engineer each serving a purpose. My personl favorite engineer and medic I love taking out choppers and tanks without tracers. You really have to have all your drivers updated video and sound as well as install punkbuster, first install worked like a charm no issues occasionally it would kick me from a server no reason VERY FEW TIMES nothing to complain about though. The game is difficult Ill give it that I currently rank 32 and still my kill to death ratio is awfull at 0.93 percent almost an even 1/1 but I still really enjoy game even when getting spanked I dont play it for hours just for fun but there are serious gamers and of course your evil snipers. I USUALLY RESPAWN AS A SNIPER MYSELF AND SNIPE THEM BACK LOL ;) Most people dont know how to work as a squad but if you know how you will dominate the game. Usually I dont squad up unless I see my squad knows how to play as a squad working toward an objective then I help out and stay with the squad. All in all very fun to play online no issues with connection or loading times with game for me would recommend.

Well BF2 fans, I just completed the new Batlefield game, on my new ASUS G73 A2, wow max settings and the game had no lag, the sounds was great and the video was nice. But back to the game. I have been playing this off and on when I can. But I am sadden that the game has ended. I own all the Battle Field Games. I will say off all of them EA Nailed this one. I too am a big Call of Duty Fan and own all of them. But if EA can keep putting games like this look out I.W you get a run for you money. Now I am a net player as we all are, but right off the bat I was not too impress with the internet play. I think I.W has them on that. But I only had a chance to play this game on the net once. So I dont want to be too hasty on that. But the single player was awsome I thought. So the person who thought of the storylines 5 starts brother. It was like I was in a movie and I was the main actor. Now I am not going to give the ending away. But if EA dont make a 3rd part to this series, then they should hang it up. They got a winner, and there is money to be made. Now I am going back and try this game on the hardest level. I think I just got done playing it on hard level, but not sure. It was a tough game. So I am now going to try the online and see if it would be just as fun. Really great job on this game EA. From start to finsh. I cant wait or hoping that there will be 3rd installment of this series. Only time will tell, but if there is, I am going to get it no matter what the cost. 5 Stars all the way.

When I read some of the the other peoples reviews about this game, I was rather skeptical to go through with the purchase. Some people said that the servers didnt work for instance. Upon playing multiple hours of online gameplay, I can say with certainty that this is false. Playing online is fantastic and offers a great amount of fun. There are so many maps and achievments to earn that it will keep you busy for a while, while at the same time, not letting you become bored.
The campaign is fun, too. Some people have said that the campaign to this game is not that amazing and that it is short, but I found it to be extremely entertaining and found it to be a moderate lenghth.
This is a good game!!!!!!!
