I love this! It is an awesome product! The picture and video are super easy to use and the calendar feature I use to leave myself video reminders as far as a month out! The only downside is that the sound quality is very poor... I ended up opening it up and hooking up a cheap pair of passive speakers to it and it was night and day different (Be advised: This involved soldering, and is NOT plug and play)

Awesome product! If they advertised this on mainstream media, I am certain that everyone would want one!

I love this. Audiovox made the homebase easy to install. We have ours on the fridge. I have scanned all of our refridgerator pics. into it. The only thing that would make it better, is if it were wireless. Audiovox included everything to make the wires almost invisible, you really dont notice them.

The idea of having a digital picture frame with message center is great. However, this product is a bit hard to use. There are 4 buttons: menu, message, and up down. The buttons often have contact problems, and I have to press many times to get it started. And you have to do everything with these buttons, so it is a pain. But I guess it is still better than just a digital picture frame...

This works well, is handy for leaving messages and starting a grocery list. It is also a good calendar and date reminder. I especially like the digital picture frame. I enjoy walking through the kitchen and watching pictures of my family scroll by - always makes me smile.

The audiovox message center is interesting, but maybe a little slow to be completely useful! I like being able to record a message and have the light come on to indicate a message. The light is also on for a calendar event that has a message, so sometimes its hard to tell the difference. I couldnt get the card reader slot to read my SD card, but was able to easily load some pictures using my flash drive. Its a fun conversation piece, but we are using it more as a digital frame right now.

A nice product, reasonably well-designed. A little complicated to copy pictures to internal memory, but very simple to insert an SD card. The menu system is a little clunky, and I would prefer longer cycle times (you get to choose among 3, 5, and 8 second refresh, I think).

I own a couple of these and a couple of (older + smaller) Phillips photo frames. The physical size and 800x600 resolution of this frame is very nice. It also comes with a small remote control but Ive never used it.

The quality of the displayed images is very good. Theres controls for brightness, contrast, hue, saturation, etc so you can adjust the display to accurately display the photos.

My biggest and only complaint is the firmware which ought to be easy to fix. Heres a quick sample of what I mean and Ill compare this frame to the excellent software in the Phillips:

How long each photo is displayed:
Phillips: Anywhere from 2 seconds to 30 minutes.
Audiovox: 3, 5 or 8 seconds.
(Even at 8 seconds, this is too fast. I like 30-40 seconds per photo)

Order to display photos:
Phillips: Sequential or random
Audiovox: Sequential only
(I like random so you never know what photo will be shown next. Otherwise you tend to memorize and know whats coming up next.)

Automatic shutdown:
Phillips: The frame can turn itself off at certain times
Audiovox: Its either on or off
(My Phillips turns itself off between 11PM and 7AM in the morning)


So I really like the images on this frame but the firmware drives me crazy. The options to cycle to the next image are only 3, 5 and 8 seconds which for all practical purposes is the same setting... FAST. How #!^@ difficult is it to write software/firmware to let the person set a longer time?

This being said Im still hoping that either Audiovox or someone will come up with updated firmware for this. I have seen absolutely ZERO evidence that this will happen but I keep checking anyway because these gripes are easily fixed. If they would only bother.

Display quality is pretty good and I like the alarm feature. But im a little upset with the compatibility of the external memory card. It took me a while to figure out that it had to be formatted in FAT. I cant connect it to my computer and spent a decent amount of time trying to find a driver for it and was unsuccessful. Other than that, I still havent played around with connecting it to my camera.



For those who dont know much about computers and can not get the device to read/display the photos on your memory card, here is how you format it:

1.) MAKE A COPY OF THE PHOTOS ON THE MEMORY CARD IF YOU DO NOT ALREADY HAVE ONE

2.) Right-click on the memory card [usually is called SD Memory Card (E:) or (F:) ] from Explore or a folder view.

3.) Select Format ...

4.) Under the File System Option, choose FAT

5.) !!THIS STEP WILL ERASE ALL DATA ON THE MEMOR CARD!!
click Start

hopefully I saved someone some frustration.
