Macerato (United States) on Friday, 13-November-2009 I know that a lot of people are like me and they buy things like sound equipment without knowing any of the details or specifics, so I thought Id offer that perspective on these headphones. Theyre decently comfortable to wear except theyd be perfect if there was some kind of cushion under the band that goes across the top of your head. Whenever Id wear them Id have to move them every half hour or so because the bands were digging into my scalp. Also, I wear eyeglasses to watch movies so the fit was a little tight where the stems sat above my ears; it always required a bit of adjustment. The cushions sit on the ears very well, though. They cancel out quite a lot of noise without actually cutting off all sound, like if the phone rings. I think the sound quality is really excellent, though like I said, I dont know any of the technical details of sound quality. All I know is that I would often take them on and off just to make sure that I had the speakers turned to headphones because the sound was so clear that I could swear Id forgotten and it was filling the whole room (I usually watch movies at night so I dont want to wake anyone up!). The cord is very durable and long, though its the reason why I had to replace them with another Sony pair today. The wire going into the left speaker just all of a sudden stopped working, right in the middle of an episode of Glee. :( But they did last quite a long time, I think. I actually dont remember when I bought them! It has to have been at least a year and half, and for this price Id call them a great buy for someone like me who doesnt want any fuss or muss and just wants to watch the movie now! :) by: Y. Im a retired part-time announcer for a midwest talk radio station so it goes without saying that after a four hour shift on the air a headset that not only sounds great but is light weight and easy on the ears is a necessity. They sit lightly around your ears and provide crisp clear sound. Cord is a bit too long, but does come with 1/4 adapter. These dont feel like they could survive trench warfare, but then again you most likely are buying them to use while sitting at a desk. They are large, but very weak. There is no bass, they overclock easily, and the treble tends to hiss if you dont set your equalizer properly... this includes the default equalizer setting. With these you MUST adjust your equalizer to get a good sound, which can be obnoxious if you are not familiar with equalizer settings. These were a cheap emergency replacement for a trip, and I dont plan on using them after I replace my older, better headphones. There are cheaper, better quality headphones that can be purchased off of a shelf -though we recommend your site- , are smaller, have more bass, and broadcast treble without any hissing. on the good side, these are very comfortable and lightweight...among the most comfortable headphones Ive ever used. These are so light because the speakers are dinky, so keep that in mind. The foam padding pretty much encases the entire ear and prevents sound leakage. The interior tapers so that the parts of the ear that stick out have lots of space to go. If you have the patience to match the equalizer to prevent distortion as well as emphasizing the sounds of your music, then these arent a bad buy.
