The PowerHD-100 can be powered via batteries, USB power from a PC or laptop, or by AC adapter. The PowerHD-100 is the only practical portable solution for viewing digital television on your laptop. Current USB tuner sticks do not come with usable antennas as an accessory, so a separate antenna is required to receive the maximum number of stations possible. The PowerHD-100 is the ideal antenna solution for watching TV on travel. With the mandatory ending of broadcast analog TV on June 12th, 2009, there will be an increasing demand for antennas for home use. The PowerHD -100 is an ideal antenna for your home, as it can also be used with any plasma or LCD flat panel TV with an internal ATSC tuner. Hook up the PowerHD-100 to additional TVs in your house to avoid added fees for multiple cable boxes. Everything you need to receive free TV immediately is in the box. Simple hookup, installs in minutes. You Receive: Product and accessories in full retail package. Includes AC/DC adapter, F/F coax cable (to connect to your TV/Tuner), USB cable, (2) AA batteries, and User Guide. Glossary of Terms ATSC - This is the North American standard for receiving broadcast TV signals. HDTV - High Definition TV format, 720 and 1080 lines of resolution. USB Tuner Stick - This is a TV tuner device that plugs into your USB port. Made by ATI, Pinnacle, Hauppauge, etc.

First off, this little one looks great! Why? Because you can hardly see it!! except for a little green light in the front, but other than that is practically invisible; About performance the first time I tried, it only pick 22 HD Channels ( in my area I suppose to pick up to 44 HD Channels) but you have to move it around and keep scanning channels again and again every time you move it; and this procedure goes for every single antenna out here no only for this one, In other words you need to find the sweet spot, after few minutes of scanning and moving the antenna I found the sweet spot with in inches from where I started, So yes; even inches in where you place the antenna matters to get a good reception or bad; At the end I end up picking up 42 out of 44 HD channels that are available in my area so thats great and plus the two missing channels I dont even need them as long as I get the channels I watch the most I am happy. Well is a little pricey; thats why I rate 4 starts but if it was like 29 bucks this baby would be a big winner.

The PowerQ POWERHD-100 is a great improvement over the rabbit ears I had been using. I have a Toshiba HD TV located in the interior of a bedroom in a Manhattan apartment. The rabbit ears would hardly pick up any stations following the digital switchover. I could get NBC, but not CBS or ABC. I hooked up the PowerQ, plugged it in, ran an autoscan, and got about 40 digital channels, including all the major network channels, as well as PBS stations, and a bunch of foreign stations, including Al Jazzerra (of all things). I like it so much, Ive ordered one for my kitchen TV at home, which is suffering from the same problems, even though on that TV I have a Philips PHDTV1 Silver Sensor UHF/HDTV Digital Indoor TV Antenna; that antenna wont pick up CBS or ABC, either.

I was torn about keeping the cable and going with an antenna. However a one time payment versus 150.00 a month made the choice easy. The unit is compact and the hookup was easy. I have some friends and family that are thinking about doing the same thing and I will definitely recommend the PowerQ unit.

I bought this antenna after read some reviews here and in other websites. This is a very little antenna, very light, and actually works very well. I live in a suburban area and this little thing pick up the strongest signals without problems. At least for me, the PowerQ works fine, I can see my channels of interest, it is very portable and easy to set up. However, I dont know how this compares with other indoor amplified antennas like the TERK HDTVa and the Winegard SS-3000, particularly if you need to pick up weak signals from a suburban area.
