I think this is the best keyboard Ive ever owned. It would be nice if they made a wired version.

Also, I dont like the apple keys on it since they replace the windows menu key and displace the alt keys slightly.

Otherwise the keyboard layout is *exactly* the same as my laptop which is great for consistency. A very good layout for coding.

I needed a keyboard like this for ergo reasons, but after 2 months of regular use, I have to return this one to Kensington because random keys keep getting stuck or stop working. If you dont keep your desk very clean, this keyboards sleek design will trap dust and pet hair (full disclosure: I have cats that like to roam across my desk) under the keys and is impossible to clean. Once you pry the keys off you cant get them to snap back on because of the tiny attachment points; the keys are very closely attached to the underlying board so that you cant lift them easily to clean under them. Once it starts getting gunked up, your keys wont work well any more and may even start depressing themselves (like this a.m. when the Enter key was endlessly entering returns in my doc). Or the right-facing key that stopped working until I pried it off to clean under it and now cannot reaffix because of the design. Or the d key that was only working every so often until I realized that something might be under it that was preventing it from depressing fully. Its a maddening problem that surfaced about a month into my purchase, but after 3 different keys have gotten stuck or stopped working properly over the space of 2 months, I sadly conclude this ones not for me. Love the detachable number pad. The sleek profile is ok, not all that ergonomic in truth (only the small footprint is). Oh, and this keyboard is better for former Mac users than Windows; the Apple key resides where the Alt key does for Windows. Overall the keys are all slightly off kilter so full keyboard users may be disappointed, but probably not vastly different than using a laptop keyboard.

Setup was a snap.
The combination of wireless tools - Mouse, Keyboard, Number pad, all on one wireless USB interface relieves USB port shortage on this 4 port machine.
The wireless feature is extremely useful when I am using the computer in a vehicle, where wires are unusually inconvenient and even dangerous.
The mouse and keyboards are good looking, and have excellent feel. They are very easy to use, except for the points noted below as disappointments.

DISAPPOINTMENTS:

The trackball feature of the mouse does not function as a cursor control without install of special driver software. I have not installed the software because I really hate using special software to run basic tools like the mouse & keyborard, so cannot evaluate how well the trackball would work if it were installed.

Five special function keys in the upper right of the keyboard are likewise disabled, absent installation of special drivers.

The keyboard is much easier to use than a laptop keyboard, but has problems.

The space bar is low behind the lower margin of the keyboard, so special attention and effort is reqired to enter spaces, a simple thumb tap does not register because he margin of the keyboard blocks the thumb before the space bar is depressed enough to register.

Even worse, the number pad does not include the Alt-nnnn function needed to enter special characters. On a normal number pad on a keyboard entering alt + 0176 will produce the ° character, with number lock on. It produces nothing with this number pad.

I love the keyboard but the mouse was the worst Ive ever tried to use. I just connected another mouse and everything is fine.

Good sturdy quality in construction, looks built to last. Nice keypad feeling buttons. Good size number keypad. Like the mouses feeling in my palm and the track ball is useful. Like the small size of the transmitter and the main keypad. Power consumption is low and the batteries last quite awhile. Has excellent range. I could be in another room 15 feet away and enter data. The only thing I dont like is that sometimes when entering numbers using the keypad, you get doubly entries for one keystroke, so I have to spend extra time reviewing the completed spreadsheet for errors.

I have been using this keyboard for over 1 year. So far, this has been my favorite keyboard ever. I do a lot of gaming and sit in a lot of unusual places, so I wanted something slim. This keyboard suited my purposes perfectly. It even had a detachable keypad so I would not be bothered by worthless extra space when playing games not requiring a keypad. Although my keyboard has taken a lot of abuse, it is still functioning.

Pros:
Does not eat up a lot of batteries. I am on the computer every day for over 40 hours a week. I have not noticed any additional battery costs in my budget.

Slim and sleek. It is easy to store away or hold in your lap, unlike larger cumbersome keyboards.

Decent range. It gets much better range than my Microsoft Wireless mouse.

Cons:
The default mouse is worthless. There is no middle click functionality. This forces me to use two usb ports and a different wireless mouse.

Conflicts with other wireless devices sometimes by shielding signals.

The keys detach after much use. My A key has been detaching for a while and the plastic holder piece broke the other day. Now I am left without a A key pad. My f6 key has also takes abuse as it is the auto-save key on various games. Other than that the keys are working fine. When the key only half depresses as stated in some reviews, usually some garbage is under it and needs to be cleared away. I have endured my share of frustration reattaching keys.

Expensive. Tip to manufacturer, market a version without the mouse for less cost. Also include an extra plastic key holder to repair broken keys.

The keyboard and mouse work very well, however I have not been as pleased with the range. Ive found that you need to keep the USB dongle within line of sight for the proper signal strength. The keyboard is very flat (which can be a good thing if thats how you prefer to type) Ive been spoiled my my Logitech Wave which is my other PC keyboard. Overall if your looking for space saving, mobility, and clean lines - this is the set for you!

I purchased one these sets and liked it so well I purchased a second set for my husband. This is an awesome product! The price was excellent as is the quality of the set. The USB attachment for the laser mouse is inside the mouse, for storage. Its easy to remove and plug into your laptop.

Great overall build quality on this keyboard/mouse combo. The aesthetics are clearly appealing, but using the keyboard and mouse is even better. The keyboard has nice heft to it, is quite slim and doesnt take up extra space on the desk, and key travel is kept at a minimum for good feel. Ive read many complaints about the mouse but Im not sure why. It is a bit flatter than other mice, but the arch in your hand remains whether there is something underneath or not. I dont feel any additional stress or discomfort when using the mouse. In fact, the clicking feel from the scrolling is quite pleasant and feels more in control than other mice scrollers Ive used. Perhaps the best feature is the compatibility with WinXP/Vista and Mac OSX. Im using this keyboard/mouse combo with a KVM switch and I can easily share between the two operating systems with no problems! I would highly recommend this product if you intend on sharing between Windows and Mac.

I have had many wireless keyboards by multiple manufacturers (Microsoft, Logitech, Gyro). This is by far the best. It is so good I bought one for my home office and my on site office. The set has a good touch on the keys. The ability to move the numeric keypad to the left is absolutely perfect! My hands are small and the mouse doesnt hit my pressure points that aggravates carpal tunnel or basal thumb joint problems. Since you can move it anywhere, you can place the keyboard/pad and mouse in any position that is comfortable at the time. Everyone who uses a computer for a living knows that being able to vary you hand/body position is necessary to survival in the industry.

I like to sit away from my monitor, prop my feet up, sit in different positions and this keyboard allows all of that on a standard lapdesk. This set is durable. I have had one for over a year. Believe it or not, I still love it. Being a technojunkie, I am always on the look-out for what the latest/greatest is available. I have yet to find anything better or even close.

One suggestion, be sure to download the latest slimblade drivers from the Kensington website. They are essential to consistent function.

ive owned a lot of keyboards bye far this is my fav.
its nice and sleek its a good size keyboard for me i heard a lot of people complain about that. Really expensive though. i was lucky enough to only get it for 10 bucks at a closing circuit city it was a display one and they thought they lost the wireless dongle to plug into the computer but i looked at it and open the battery case and there it was! they were stupid enough not to look there. so i got it for even cheaper than if they knew. the detachable keypad is a great feature that is very convenient. the mouse is also comfortable enough for me a perfect for traveling. this is a great keyboard and mouse combo all in a slim package.

I love this keyboard, it only has a few (minor) cons:
1. I wish they would have sold the mouse separately and charged less- the mouse is useless in my opinion.
2. the alt key is in the wrong spot for PC users-- its two keys left of the spacebar instead of one key to the left where it should be. BUT, its a non-issue if you download the free program SharpKeys, you can remap or turn off most of the keys to your liking.
3. its expensive! why is it so darn hard to find a keyboard that had a keypad on the left-- there are so few to choose from!

Pros:
1. the numeric keypad does not need to be attached to the keyboard in order to work, you can let it be anywhere on your desk. good for ergonomics.
2. if you are right handed and use your mouse alot, this is the keybard for you -- most average keyboards have the numeric keypad on the right, which forces you to keep your arm farther away when you use your mouse. this adds up to sharp shoulder pain over the years. Ive had different keyboards w/o attached number pads for a couple of years now and they definitely help make the back pain go away.

one final thought: I think its worth the money -- my previous keyboard (a no-name cheapo brand)was about $20 did not come with a numeric key pad. when I used a separately purchased number pad (another $20) along with it, it seemed to affect the no-name keyboard, causing it to go into number lock mode often. also, the lettering rubbed off within weeks. extremely annoying. I would recommend the Kensington slimblade because its good quality and it comes with its own numeric keypad that will work with it- no compatibility issues.

Replaced standard setup, now no wires. Very nice; looks good, feels great, very ergonomic; works well in tight space, very adaptable. Useful for PC or Mac. My IT people want it for their computers too. Leftys can move the number keypad to other side.

I purchase this from somewhere else first and really liked the product. I saw that I could get it at your site for over $35 less so I returned the other set to the store after I ordered the one from your site. It came quickly and nicely packaged. The unit itself is really nice looking, excellent quality, and has no real setup since Vista recognized the device/had the drivers. The usb dongle is really unobtrusive and easy to swap between computers/laptops if you want to share a setup. The only think that could be better is if it was backlit, but Im sure thats the next model coming out.... which I will of course buy. 5 year manufacturers warranty... you cant beat that.Overall I am very pleased and would recommend whole heartedly. Enjoy!!!

The SlimBlade desktop set is the perfect keyboard set, hands down. The keystrokes are fluid, the modules are easy to work with, and the whole thing just screams style. The mouse is super easy to configure and slick to look at. The scroll ball makes navigating big documents and web pages a breeze. The keyboard has beautifully integrated shortcut keys including a backup button for those with a onetouch solution. Im using this with a Media Center computer(Vista Ultimate 64-bit), 32 flatpanel with JBL Spyro speakers. To put it bluntly, there is no other product Id rather have on my desk. Kensington knocked this one right out of the park. For the perfect experience, be sure to grab the Media Remote as well.

The overall quality of the keyboard and mouse are very good. It is solid and has good overall feel for the keys. I dont use the keypad much so being able to remove it and only have the small footprint of the keyboard itself works well. The layout of the Home, End, Delete etc... keys are off for what I am use to and I find it a bit frustrating at times. The mouse although good, takes a little getting used to with the 360 scroll button, so I would say it is not a strong point of the package.

Overall its a good wireless setup.

Looks good. Works good enough, but it is unnecessarily difficult to put in batteries. Thought I was going to break the door on the mouse and on the keyboard each time. Wish it were rechargeable.

This set looks great on-line, but there are some negatives. It looks and feels like it is well made. However the high gloss plastic that encircles the keyboard is prone to pick-up fingerprints like they are going out of style. The keys are spaced close together, so do not plan on buying this keyboard if you are someone who spends long hours in front of the computer. You will have issues with pain and discomfort withint a matter of hours, and I mean that when I say it. We use it for our home computer where most navigating is done via a mouse instead of a keyboard.

Very well made. Keyboard is solid. Great feel. Easy setup. Mouse is a bit too low profile and not the most comfortable for me, but it is designed to be portable. Great idea to have the number pad detachable. I tested the mouse at 20 feet away and it still works great. If you use your your HDTV as a monitor, and the HDTV is far from the computer, this mouse/keyboard combination is a must. If you are just looking for a small high quality portable keyboard (or you dont have loads of desk space), this keyboard beats any of the small keyboards out there.

Also, I have a wireless b/g network and there have been no interference problems.

I will probably buy a second keyboard.

The keyboard doesnt have the 10-key keyboard on it so it is just the right length for short-armed persons, especially me. It works by battery so it doesnt have any lights which means you dont know when youre in the CAPS mode, but I can live without that knowing that my arm doesnt have to be stretched to use a mouse.

The mouse didnt work right and the battery cover didnt stay closed. I gave up on it and used my old mouse. I sure am glad that I was able to use my wired mouse with the new keyboard.

It has a wireless 10 key keypad but I dont use it. No light on it either.
