Protection:

The black can emit different colors when heating up, for example, it emits the dark red color light when it is 800K, and it emits bright red color light when it is 1200K, the higher the temperature, it would emit yellow light, bright light or blue light. The surface temperature of the sun is 6000K, it is the very color temperature as 6000K, and the color temperature of the halogen lamp is 2800K. The unit of the color temperature is K.
The metal halide lamp is different with the black; it used the gas to discharge. The action spectrum between them is different. Nowadays, the color temperature is usually 4300K, 6000Kand 8000K, etc. some one mistake that the higher the color temperature, the brighter the light. The color temperature is only related to the temperature of the light color, not to the brightness. Because the sensitivity of the eye for different color is distinct, the color temperature is too high for the eye to be sensitive, for example, the lumen of 4300K is 3200lm, but it cuts down to 2200lm when it is 12000K. The unit of the brightness is lumen, the color of 4300K is bright and yellow, and 5000K is natural sunshine, 6000K is bright and blue, 8000K is light blue, 10000K is blue, 12000K is dark blue. However, the higher the color temperature, the lower the lumen, and the penetration of the fog and raining would be worse. So it is common that the penetration of 6000K is better than 8000K.
The best color temperature for driving is 4300K, but usually the company doesnt have the very color temperature in stock. The penetration of the 3000K (golden light) is good, fitting for the fog and raining. However, it can just for the distance, not for the bright lighting, it is tired for the eye after a long time driving. So we recommend the color temperature is 6000K or 8000K.
The higher the color temperature, the more green of the light.
The lower the color temperature, the more red of the light.
HID
A high-intensity discharge (HID) lamp is a type of electrical lamp which produces light by means of an electric arc between tungsten electrodes housed inside a translucent or transparent fused quartz or fused alumina arc tube. This tube is filled with both gas and metal salts. The gas facilitates the arcs initial strike. Once the arc is started, it heats and evaporates the metal salts forming plasma, which greatly increases the intensity of light produced by the arc and reduces its power consumption. High-intensity discharge lamps are a type of arc lamp.
Compared with fluorescent and incandescent lamps, HID lamps have higher luminous efficacy since a greater proportion of their radiation is in visible light as opposed to heat. Their overall luminous efficacy is also much higher: they give a greater amount of light output per watt of electricity input.
Ballast
Electrical ballast is a device intended to limit the amount of current in an electric circuit.
Ballasts vary greatly in complexity. They can be as simple as a series resistor as commonly used with small neon lamps or light-emitting diodes (LEDs). For higher-power installations, too much energy would be wasted in resistive ballast, so alternatives are used that depend upon the reactance of inductors, capacitors, or both. Finally, ballasts can be as complex as the computerized, remote-controlled electronic ballasts now often used with fluorescent lamps and HID lamps.
