This is a nice watch. However, as some reviewers have mentioned, the bezel is not protected at all. I solved this problem by trimming a screen protector to fit; I bought this one: Case-Mate Screen Protector Film 3 Pack for iPhone 3G, 3G S but any screen protector should work. I doubt the screen protector would stay on if I went swimming with it, though.

The thermometer seems to be reasonably accurate. Some reviewers have complained about the thermometer being affected by their skin temperature, but I dont think Ive ever seen a thermometer that *wasnt* affected by the temperature of the surface it was sitting on, with the exception of the ones with remote sensors, which isnt what I want in a watch. I just take the watch off and let it sit for a little while when I want to see the temperature. (I normally wear the watch on my belt, where the position is too inconsistent for calibration to work, so I cant comment on that.)

The hands sometimes block the digital display, but it generally isnt too hard to look around them.

The price on this watch was $33.11 when I bought it; I think it is an excellent watch for that price, even with the added expense of a screen protector.

Casio Mens Forester Sports Thermometer Watch #AQF100W-7BV Digital display too small to read without glasses. Analog hands cover digital display.

This watch has all the bells and whistles, which is why it comes with a thick little booklet on how to set everything. My concern is that if we ever have to change the battery and it loses the settings, it will take forever to set it back up again. Hopefully not. Other than that, its a great deal.

I have had this watch for about a week now. Its relatively aesthetically pleasing. The watch band hurt my wrist for the first day, but I got used to it quickly. The band is the only thing about the watch i dislike. Its made of cheap plastic, cannot be replaced (to my knowledge) and is obviously meant for a beefier wrist than what I genetically programmed to attain at this age. Nonetheless, its a great little watch that I see keeping for as long as I can. (or as long as it takes to procure several hundred dollars to upgrade it.)

There has been a lot of confusion over the temperature feature of this watch. I have no idea what you all are talking about. I, for one, followed the instructions in the manual and found that the temperature is indeed correct. (-/ a bit) The catch is that you must be WEARING THE WATCH WHILE YOU CALIBRATE IT FOR TEMPERATURE, and the ambient temperature mustnt fluctuate too greatly. My indoor temperature sits at a cozy 74 degrees F. After wearing the watch for around half an hour, I calibrated the watch, and the watch read 73.8* which, for a $30 watch, aint bad. I further tested the thermometer feature by going outside where it is a steady 70.0 degrees, and within two temperature-read cycles, (4 minutes) the watch read 69.8 degrees. So Id say youre getting a fair deal.

The moon phase feature is dead on! Today is Wed. the 16th and the watch tells me that the next new moon is going to be on Friday, Sept. 18th. So, I looked it up, and sure enough at 2-something PM a new moon rises in the sky. Hows that for pretty accurate?
Tidal feature is something I wont really get into because im not a surfer and I dont take beach trips but twice a year. I can say that the readout looks to be pretty on point, although when you are using the DST feature, this can be off by one hour in either direction.

The automatic light feature is crazy cool, though it only illuminates for a couple seconds. It really is too short of a time to get a clear read of the time at a glance unless youre real swift about it. The needles are indiglo so thats a nifty little thing they threw into the mix. As long as they have time to charge, you can see what time it is without the aid of the auto-light. If all else fails, theres always that handy light button though..

All in all I really like the watch. I recommend it for an outdoorsy type or just a watch collector. The coolness factor overpowers the setbacks on all fronts.

I purchased this watch because I wanted a waterproof thermometer watch. Thermometer is accurate from factory, and reads about 11 degrees higher on the wrist.Moon phase is a plus. The tide graph feature [programming] will keep you occupied for hours if you so desire.High tide is 1 bar of 2 hours duration, that changes on the hour. When properly set,and compared to saltwater tidal charts,it is generally accurate within an hour. In general, this is a good looking watch that can be worn casual or for dress. However, you MUST carefully read the instruction manual.

Its a nice watch given the price. It never shows temperature properly. It has many features which are not of much use in day-to-day life.

This watch is a great value and packs a lot of features into a good looking case. With so many features there is a bit of a learning curve and does require reading the instructions. Once you get everything set it is very easy to use and to access the various modes.

The thermometer function does work well once you get it set while on your wrist. It is seldom more than a degree or two off of our wall thermometer.

The tide function is very cool and actually came in handy while we were on vaction at the beach.

The backlight includes an auto on function that can be set to light up when your wrist is turned. This is a nice feature, but I ended up turning it off as it does come on when I dont need it.

The only thing that takes some getting used to is the digital second count that rotates around the rim of the display. Not bad once you get the hang of it, just different.

I am very pleased with the look, features, functionality, and price of this watch. Highly Recommended!

I have returned to Casio after using a Timex Expedition electronic compass watch for the last 6 1/2 years. The Timex Expeditions batteries kept dying after only a year even though they were supposed to last three to four years, plus the Expedition kept resetting itself.

This Casio Forester packs a lot into a watch for your sites super-low price.

If you spend a lot of time outdoors and want to know the temperature, tides, and moon phases, this is the perfect watch. Be warned, though: The instruction booklet is wrong in detailing how to calibrate the temperature sensor. Calibrate the sensor while wearing the watch. Otherwise, your body heat will add almost 20 degrees to the sensors reading. Right now my watch says its 70.2 degrees inside. A nearby thermometer says its 70.9 degrees.

To get the most accurate tidal data, dont rely on using the nearest major citys longitude or lunitidal value. Use Google Earth or another mapping application to get your exact longitude. Then use data provided by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to determine your locales precise lunitidal value (http://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/faq2.html#22).

Aside from the specific features this watch has, positives include the luminescent analog hands, the Daylight Saving time toggle switch, and the World Time function that enables you to see the current time in major cities around the world. Also, the analog display enables you to see the time when youre using the stopwatch, timer, or tidal calendar.

Negatives include the fact that you have to set the analog hands separately from the digital setting. This means that toggling Daylight Saving time on and off for the digital display has no effect on the analog display. Another negative is the tiny date display and the relatively small digital time display. The time should be larger than the temperature. This is, after all, a watch first and foremost.

Very good functionality, but it is very difficult and timely to set-up, especially the tide function. Once set-up, it is easy to use, and very handy. I hope it lasts a long time.

I recently bought this watch and I was amazed of what precise the ferenheit is and the quality of a watch. I bought another Casio digital watch from your site too but this one caught my eye and it works well, the only problem is that moon seting are a bit different then I expected but overall its great watch!

This watch serves all of the purposes and is nice and large without being heavy. I like everything about it. Temp seems to be relatively accurate after setting it to me (within 2 degrees at any given time). I like the luminescent hands and backlight. Still havent figured out what the appearing and disappearing blocks around the outside do? They move in time with seconds, but dont count seconds (10 seconds are not counted from 25 to 35?). Only complaints are I wish the backlight worked for as long as I hold the light button instead of afterglow (but Im sure others prefer this feature, so not too big of grievance), and I would like to see an inset crystal on future models (lots of room for damage as is), also a true rubber band instead of resin would be nice (Im sure this would drive up the price though). Overall, extremely pleased. Shipping was fast and watch showed up in perfect condition.

My new favorite watch. I needed a tide clock but bought this because it looked like a better deal for the money. It takes some time to set the tide function correctly but once it is right, you will love it. The thermometer is a nice extra. I can now walk on the beach at the best times and I love knowing what the moon phase is for the day.

Im currently deployed to Afghanistan and for some reason, I always seem to have a Casio watch. I didnt want to pay more than 30 bucks for a watch that would allow me to set the digital and the analog time seperately and this one fit the bill. It also has world time which is convenient to have...Illuminator function lights well. Watch also has a temperature sensor and tracks moon and tide phases. Dont know how acurate they are but are nice bells and whistles to have. Overall review...this is plenty of watch for the field (depending on the degree of accuracy required).

It does require some adjustment for the temperature, nothing you cant do with the manual. The tide and moon phase are very useful and it really looks good. Other features are really good and useful, including the trending function.

I bought this watch for my hubby for Christmas. He wanted a watch with the temp. He loves it. He loves that the temp is right. He had to calabrated while the watch was on his body so his body temp did not affect the reading. After he got it calabrated just right, he thinks it is the coolest! Great watch for a great price.

For the price, this is good. I really like the showing of world time, and the look I also like.
The only disadvantage is the thermometer always give a around 30 degree C number when you wear it. If you want the accurate temperature, you should take the watch off and wait for 10min.
